Turn off ur phone if you can. Connect your phone via usb to your computer and make sure your running the latest version of itunes. If you cant then just hold the top lock button and the home button until the screen turns off. Continue pressing until u see the apple icon. Release the top lock button but continue holding the home button. It should switch to an icon that shows a usb connecting to an itunes icon and will say "connect to itunes". Restore via your itunes on the pc/mac.
You probably, reset your phone setting, and if you were jail broken,
2 many factors would affect your device and cause this problem,
1-if you were unofficialy unlocked your device by ultrasn0w or Sam .
2-you may have updated your firmware via iTunes and that would lock you phone and cause that error, you need to searh iclarified dot come or modmyi forum
You must have bought a new iPod!
The screen is simply telling you to connect your iPod to your computer. (You should have iTunes already installed, if not you can download it, and install it for free from the Apple website).
Once it is connected, iTunes will pop up, and the rest of the set up will be simple!
You can try connecting it to another computer and see if it works there. If it does then it is Windows or your computer or the USB port or driver. You could also uninstall iTunes and reinstall it and then check if it connects. If it shows up then, you can select to restore it on the info screen, it will reset it back to factory and wipe it clean.
