Question about Samsung HT-TX72 Theater System

1 Answer

Robert I've had the Samsung HT-TX52 for almost a year now, and just recently, after about 10 mintues it keeps shutting off. Its almost like new and hardly used, why is it doing this? There is no error message, it just shuts off. I've tried unplugging it for a day, taking out all my wires and reconnecting them perfectly, and it still does this

I found this solution online and it works !!!

1. Disconnect all cables and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Remove the 6 screws securing the cover casing.
3. Remove the 2 screws that secure the fan.
4. Reverse the fan so that it blows the air out of the unit.
5. Replace the 2 fan screws.
6. Replace cover casing and the 6 screws.

YOU'RE DONE....Plug in and enjoy.

I have a samsung ht-tx75 and it keeps shutting down every 10 minutes saying protection.the fan is working

Protection is very likely caused by an over heat condition, even with the fan working if the receiver is in a very enclosed place that warms up and is not ventilated it will cause the problem. The solution is to provide more ventilation so that the receiver can cool itself properly.

Power turns off

Protect mode will kick in whenever a fault is detected.

You get the unit not powering up, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that is the protection switch that keeps shutting down the unit.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.
