I've bought a casio QT2100 second hand and was trying to reset it
Based on the info that i've got from fixya.com but i was stuck with the operator mistake error message. Firstly, i've manage to get to the selection screen (Flag clear and init 2). Then when i pressed any buttons including yes button the ''operator mistake'' error keeps coming back.
I've also noticed that before i reached the menu, it displayed a network error message and 3 times beep sound.
Just wondering, is the machine faulty? Do I need to hook the receipt printer, cash drawer, or any PC to be able to use it?

Why do you need to master reset it? You will have a large amount of work to re-program it if you do.
If you are serious about it, you are going to need the programming manual so you can set the memory and machine features during the initialisation as it is not straight forward to reset a powerful machine such as this.
this manual will guide you through the master reset process and then you need to follow all of the tables for setting up:
If you have the manual you can look at the back for troubleshooting. The problem or solution will depend on if the lights are blinking and what color they are. The manual can be found here. You will want the basic operations manual. http://support.casio.com/manualfile.php?rgn=1&cid=007001005
I just had a XJ- S41 projector in for repair because it wouldn't power on. The power light was red solid but the temp and lamp lights were blinking red. Apparently a reset was needed, but I was told it was an internal reset that had to be done be a technician. I'm dubious of this info as I've seen some reset procedures listed on this site that may have worked, but I can't confirm as I sent it in. It cost $45 plus shipping to have Casio do this reset and there was nothing wrong with the projector or any parts replaced. Casio wouldn't tell me exactly what reset procedure was done and they will not let you speak with a technician or even try and get more info for you. Using their online repair service though was easy and swift. Just go to www.ecasiorepair.com.
The top button is for chronograph function and puts the chronograph seconds hand in motion. The bottom button is for resetting chronograph seconds hand to zero. Do as follows: 1) push the top button once- seconds hand starts moving, 2) push the top button once more- seconds hand stops, 3) push the bottom button once- seconds hand returns to zero. You can repeat as many times as you like- seconds hand will allways start the countdown from zero. Depending on what movement your watch has(mechanical or quartz), there can be more variations, but the basics are as described. If you need more info, supply full info of your watch(make, model, numbers, etc.), please. Do not forget to rate, please.
