if you just installed this device you will have to go to the utility manager and make sure all the functions are turned on, do you have windows xp. what os are you using and i can give you instructions how to go this.

- 1st click start then go to and click control panel, click sounds and speech, then click sounds and audio devices, then click on hardware, the first thing on the list should be your teac dvd,cd rewriter, we will get to if it aint in a minute, if it is near the bottom right there are two choices trouble shoot and properties you can trouble shoot if you like just to see if its working properly which is a good idea, then click properties. which will tell you if it is working properly anyway in the first category which is general, at the bottom it should say use this device enable if not click the blue tab and turn it on that will fix the problem but if not and it is on, click properties and see if the digital setting is on if not turn it on if so turn it off your player might not have the drivers for digital play, well click on the driver at the top right this wikll tell you the driver date and so forth if no info you dont have the drivers, and will need to either put in the disk that came with the unit or down load them from the net the E mail address should be on the warrenty info. oh if the unit name isnt first on the list back where i said before you will have to go to device manager and add the component just click add hardware.click drivere details and they should all be listed in the box if not try to up date the drivers with the click to that next one down and follow the instructions. you should get it operating with this info if not the thing is probably bad and you will need to replace it.
