Unfortunately no. there is probably a crack in the "membrane glass " which holds the liquid in place. a new LCD screen could run you $125 to $260. my suggestion is to evaluate whether or not the price will be worth fixing your machine, remember if all else fails, hook it up to an external monitor and go hybrid.

Screen of portable dvd player is "bleeding"

Sounds like the LCD is leaking liquid crystal. If you contact the manufacturer you may be able to replace the screen. Best bet is to obtain the service manual first to see what is required for the task and see the stock order codes.

I have a 60 inch tv and i have white dots on the screen

that is what we call dead pixel, you can remove this by following the steps below.
  1. Turn off your tv.
  2. Get yourself a damp cloth, so that you don't scratch your screen.
  3. Apply pressure to the area where the dead pixel is. Do not put pressure anywhere else, as this may make more dead pixels.
  4. While applying pressure, turn on your tv screen.
  5. Remove pressure and the dead pixel should be gone. This works as the liquid in the liquid crystal has not spread into each little pixel. This liquid is used with the backlight on your monitor, allowing different amounts of light through which give off different colours.
    Hope this helps.

My daughter threw a toy at the tv. The TV is not cracked but the is a splash colour on the screen. can it be fixed/

Hi, Unfortunately this is a crack internally, the spalsh of colour is the Liquid Crystals running through the cracks, the cracks can be very fine and not visible because of the spread of liquid. this can't be fixed, it would require a new screen which could be very expensive if you can get one.

you could try claiming on household insurance if it covers for things like this.

Hope this helps.

My bf steped on his laptop and there are 3 cracks that are black and green, can plasma screens befixed on the inside?

Laptop screens are LCD (liquid Crystal Display, most laptop screen are made up of 5-7 layers with the LCD plate in the back all bound together in an aluminum frame with the backlight installed on the bottom to light the LCD up. Thses can be disassembled and the inner plate replaced, but it is cheaper to just replace the whole unit.

The monitor screen is cracked. When you press it you can see the jel or whatever spreading. I was told that I needed a monitor,

Hi there
You have been given the correct advice.
Once your monitor screen has cracked the LCD ( liquid crystal display) tends to run or move, if you take the screen out you can replace it via the code on the back of the screen.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Water spill on my AOC2216Vw LCD Monitor

Hey man, thanks for coming to me. Um yea, massaging may help but too hard will do damage since it is LCD is Liquid Crystal Display and it is fragile and easy to damage. The water should clear up in a few months, if not i would look at replacing it which can be costly. Here is a link to fix your unstuck pixels

http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor]

Now im not liking that bit about how you mentioned was spreading so leave it for about two days, give the therapy for the screen a try and let me know if the laptop screen is healing. For the moment if you have one i recommend you hook up a VGA Monitor, old school stuff if you can and give the LCD a rest. I will post as a solution but comment back and i will keep helping you as much as you need it.
