I synced with Bluetooth and installed the Firmware. How do I know it is installed. Windows Mobile Device still doesn't sync.

Thanks for sending me the link, however, I don't see where it says that the HX2415 is incompatible with Vista. Perhaps I'm overlooking something?

  • Jerry Ram Sep 09, 2009

I've been trying to install the HX 2415 Firmware update package, but I keep getting the notice saying " The Update was not valid. The Update files will be deleted. The update is a direct DL from HP it is the file Sp32878.exe I can only connect to my PDA with Bluetooth Activesync. I'm running Vista and Wm5 and WMDC 6.I've been told that I won't be able to run ActiveSync via USB until I installed this FW update.

Make sure the latest driver is downloaded and installed. Then make sure program and device is allowed through firewall. THen make sure device is turned on before hooking up via USB.

Make the drivers are specifically for vista. Don't download ones for xp or whatever else. Then after downloaded, you must double-click ton install them. Then after they are installed, reset computer.

Make sure on the device file under my computer, find the drive, right click, go to properties. Make sure that read or write only is NOT checked.

You can also download a program called unknown device installer and if wanted, a program called unknown device driver

    Hi

You'll need to upgrade your ROM/firmware so that you'll be able to connect it with windows Vista. Kindly note that firmware upgrade will delete all the user files and contacts saved in your ipaq device memory. So, backup all the data and other contacts info by syncronizing it with another computer(which is using windows xp) or copy all the content in the memory card of your ipaq.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

I cannot access windows vista to sync with my hp 6310 ipaq

Greetings - I'm going to guess that perhaps you installed Activesync 4.5, For Vista or Windows 7 you have to install Windows Mobile Device Center which is available HERE.

If you are using mobile device center that isn't the problem and Microsoft has a dedicated section of their website dedicated to solutions syncing Windows Mobile device with Vista, way too much for me to go over here. There's a great deal of trouble shooting information about sync problems HERE.

Thanks for using Fix Ya

How do I transfer files or applications from pc to the htc snap?

You need to install on your computer ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center. To install this, insert the "Getting Started" CD into your computer and follow the setup steps. If you don't have the CD anymore, you can download the ActiveSync from this link.

Once ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center is installed you connect the HTC Snap to your PC using the USB cable supplied with your HTC Snap, then you will be presented a configuration Wizard that will take you through the set up process.

You can connect the device to your computer using USB either as an External Drive or through Microsoft ActiveSync. If using Windows Vista, you will use Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) rather than ActiveSync. Simply plug the device in and choose an option on the screen of the device.

If you will use it as an External Device, you can copy data on it as you would copy on a USB flash drive, with copy and paste.

Another option is to use the bluetooth to transfer files, if you have a notebook which has bluetooth capabilities or you have a dongle.

I have a 5th generation iPod Nano. I've had it less than one year, and now whenever I plug it into my computer with the USB cord that came with it, my computer says "USB device not recognized" and that the...

  • Check system requirements. - iPod nano (5th generation) requires the following minimum versions of Windows: either Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later), Vista or Windows 7. If you have one of these versions of Windows, verify that Windows is fully up to date by downloading and installing software updates from Microsoft. If you have Windows XP with Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows XP Service Pack 2, download and install Service Pack 3 using Windows Update.

  • iTunes online? - Confirm that iTunes has been downloaded and installed.

  • AMDS online? - iPod nano requires Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS), which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, click Start > Control Panel. Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs. If it is not, remove and reinstall iTunes.

  • Check USB connection. - Disconnect all USB devices from the system with the exception of the iPod nano and any USB keyboard and mouse. Then restart your computer. Verify that you are using a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Test with an alternate iPod USB cable if one is available.

  • AMDS - Re-verify that AMDS is running and installed.

  • iTunes usage - Remove and reinstall iTunes.
hope this helps
