Question about Acer TravelMate 2423WXCi Laptop
Overheated... could have fried the video card, processor, or motherboard.
Try cleaning out the vents with a can of compressed air... the heat may have fried something.. but cleaning it is necessary to diagnose.
Leave it untouched overnight... does it work for a longer amount of time? If it works for longer, then it is overheating and needs cleaning. Need to clear out the dust built up inside the heatsink and fan. If you can dis-assemble it, then do that... otherwise blow air into the vented ports to loosen the dust bunnies.
If cleaning it doesn't change anything, then you will need to replace some parts... motherboard, processor, or video card.
