Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

We have a Samsung CLX-6210FX. We purchased it 3 months ago. We have no support from the Supplier as we live in a remote area. We are having problems with our incoming/sending faxes. Our phone/fax no. is the same being 08 8987 8322. It operated before but not too sure what is wrong with it. When the phone rings, there is a different tone you hear when it is a fax. Usually after 2 tones, the phone will click over into the fax. The tones changeover so that you are aware the fax will be coming through. When we send emails, the machine takes all the faxes and scans as per usual but the screen says to redial try again. Need answers why the fax is not operating as per usual.

Hi there is no Fax tone which could mean that the connect tone board is faulty. This unit should be replaced under warranty no questions asked.
I know your phone works because we spoke.....
but is the mode set to FAX

I would be contacting SHARP Customer support and reporting the matter to them if you are not getting satisfaction from the seller. There is 12 months warranty on all new fax/phones.

Consumer affairs would also be interested in hearing your plight if you dont get satrisfaction.

Make sure your fax is on the MAIN incoming line and not an EXTENSION.....

Date: 18/02/2000 Question: Why won't my facsimile machine receive?
Answer: 1. If your facsimile machine is on a separate telephone line, make sure it is set to "FAX" reception mode.
2. If your facsimile machine is connected to the normal telephone line your choices are:-
(a) Set the facsimile machine to "TEL" mode. The facsimile machine will act as a normal telephone. When you answer the 'telephone' by lifting the facsimile machines handset, carry on a voice call conversation or you may send or receive a facsimile message by asking the intended receiver the push start first and the sender likewise after the document is loaded into the document scanner AND the receiving facsimile is heard to 'squeel'.
(b) Set the Reception mode to 'TEL/FAX'. In this mode the facsimile machine will use a special ring tone to alert you to a voice call. This is called a pseudo-ring and sounds differently to the normal "ring-ring". Every call phone or fax will be answered by the facsimile machine and fax calls promptly received with no further intervention of the owner/operator. Only when the long singular ring of pseudo ring is heard should the owner pick up the handset of the facsimile machine. Note: answering the call on other extensions is possible but can not be detected by the facsimile machine and facsimile answer tones may also occur and is not recommended.
(C) If you have not subscribed to FaxStream Duet, but have enabled "Distinctive ring" in the option settings of the fax machine, your fax will be unable to receive automatic faxes. Set "Distinctive Ring" to NO in option settings.
(D) If you have subscribed to FaxStream Duet, but have not enabled "Distinctive ring" in option settings, the fax will continue ringing without answering. Set distinctive ring to YES in option settings. NOTE: the reception mode of the fac machine must be set to "FAX" when using FaxStream Duet.

Faxes are not
received
automatically.

• The receiving mode should be set to Fax.
• Make sure that there is paper in the tray.
• Check to see if the display shows any error
message. If it does, clear the problem.

The machine does
not send.

• Make sure that the original is loaded in the
DADF (or ADF) or on the scanner glass.
• Sending should show up on the display.
• Check the fax machine you are sending to,
to see if it can receive your fax.
The incoming fax has
blank spaces or is of
poor-quality.
• The fax machine sending you the fax may
be faulty.
• A noisy phone line can cause line errors.
• Check your machine by making a copy.
• The toner cartridge may be empty. Replace
the toner cartridge, referring to page 66.
Some of the words
on an incoming fax
are stretched.
The fax machine sending you the fax had a
temporary document jam.
There are lines on
the originals you
send.
Check your scan unit for marks and clean it.

    just a moment! you are sending emails via the fax?

    So you have this doing emails as faxes or using a facsimilie program to acess this unit?
    At that rate I would uninstall the software and reinstall ensuring the right drivers are installed and start again. It may be as simple as replacing one of the drivers, if my re read interpretation is correct.

    firstly though, perhaps if the above is so we should start from the top and set this unit to be the dedicated fax using paper on the scanner to copy the fax to memory and then dial it out. Leave the machine in fax mode and request a reply setting it up as per the book and by passing any connection to a PC.

    Feel free to fax me after you have set this up as standard and i will try and send back a reply
    if the fax shows its in memory then try to print it
    What error codes show if any?

HOw can i change the fuser on my samsung clx-6210 FX


you might have accidentally press on some button when the power is on, you may try to switch off the power of the printer for 5min and then back on, if you still getting the low heat error most likely is the fuser issue and you need to change the fuser by samsung only.

The scanner won't work it keeps saying unavailable


The scanner is unavailable until scanning software is running on your computer, and not all scanner software will work with a Samsung.

Jammed toner cartridges


Hi.

you could use a test pen to push all the right side black latch that holds the toner back to the normal position. in a normal position it shall be in and not out as if you see it carefully the latch on the right side of the door is where it help to set in the transfer belt.

open access(load area) check feed roller take a q tip and use rubbing alcohol and clean photo eye that detects paper be sure all jammed paper is removed

most jams are at the exit and there may be some paper obstructing that area
