Check error

Try the following steps

1. Unplug power
2. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, lock scanner cover into open position
DO NOT TOUCH THE ENCODER STRIP (clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band)
3. Remove jammed paper/foreign objects (check under the print head; if the print head is in the middle, slide it to the either the left or the right side, & check for paper scraps underneath the print head)
[IF WHEN THE SCANNER COVER WAS OPENED, THE PRINT HEAD IS ON THE LEFT SIDE]
4. Move the print head to the middle
5. With the print head in the middle, remove any ripped paper/foreign objects from the left corner (SINCE THE RIPPED PAPER COULD BE VERY SMALL, USE A FLASHLIGHT TO INSPECT)
6. Close the scanner cover & plug the machine back into the power outlet
[PERSISTENCE OF THIS ERROR MESSAGE OR NO PAPER SCRAPS/FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND MEANS THAT THE ENCODER STRIP WILL REQUIRE CLEANING]
[IF WHEN THE SCANNER COVER WAS OPENED, THE PRINT HEAD IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE]
7. Plug the power cord back into the power outlet...LCD will show "Cover is Open"
8. Press Stop/Exit for approximately 5 seconds until the print head moves to the middle
9. UNPLUG MACHINE FROM POWER OUTLET
10. USE A FLASHLIGHT & TWEEZERS TO INSPECT: Remove any debris from the right corner
11. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, close scanner cover & plug machine into power outlet
[PERSISTENCE OF THIS ERROR MESSAGE OR NO PAPER SCRAPS/FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND MEANS THAT THE ENCODER STRIP WILL REQUIRE CLEANING]

TO CLEAN THE ENCODER STRIP... (clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band)
[Markings & debris can adhere on the surface of encoder strip FROM HAND CONTACT &/OR GREASE CONTACT INCURRED FROM REMOVAL OF JAMMED PAPER]
DO NOT USE FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCES NOR ANY TYPE OF SPRAY TO CLEAN INSIDE/OUTSIDE MACHINE
1. Unplug machine from power outlet
2. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, lock scanner cover into open position
3. Clean both sides of encoder WITH ONLY A DRY, LINT-FREE CLOTH
DO NOT FORCEFULLY PULL ON ENCODER STRIP
DO NOT TOUCH ENCODER STRIP WITH BARE HANDS
DO NOT FORCEFULLY SCRUB ENCODER STRIP (THAT COULD SCRATCH ITS SURFACE)
4. Clean encoder strip from right to left--stopping just before the left corner
5. Clean encoder strip from left to right--stopping just before the right corner
6. Repeat steps 5 & 6 two or three times to clean thoroughly
7. After cleaning encoder strip, USE FINGER HOLDS TO close scanner cover
8. Plug machine back into power outlet.

Jam inside top cover 13.05.00 also change fuser assembly

To remove paper jam. Just remove the toner cartridge and pullout jammed paper. If still coming paper jammed error message. Switch of the printer and the printer will roll over the paper jammed.

Changing of fuser drum is required if the print out came with the black strips. This happens when you print large volume of printing jobs.

My ge dryer is hanging clothes around the drum and leaving them black. mostly wash cloths at a corner. it has a squeak like a cricket.

Hello darrellandru, the problem is most likely going to be the drum slides. On the top drum bering, there are four plastic strips, the drum sits on these strips and those strips are what the drum rides on. You may also have problems with the drum gasgket (the felt that is on the bottom plastic drum bering).

My Brother MFC8220 Keeps jamming the paper as it starts to enter the drum, is this a feed issue? or a Drum Issue? It appears to feed from the tray correctly, but then starts jamming as it enters the drum.

Using a cloth damp with water clean the feed roller. You will see it when you pull out the paper tray. If it starts feeding good it was a feeding prob.. If it keeps doing it look at the leading edge of the jammed paper for any signs of dings or bends. if you find any paper damage look in that area for what is causing the damage. Thank you, Steven 805-520-3003

Canon IR3530 jamming

Hi, lets go from begining:
1) Remove rollers from lower cass, and put them on first cass. Use fresh paper too. - Does it helps? try abaut 50 copies. If helps replace rollers.
FB6-3405 x1, FC6-6661 X1, FC6-7083 X1
2) when you open right lower door and right door you will be able to see axis with two small rollers.Clean it verry well, use alcohol.
3) On lower right door there must be metal plate for pressure on delivery roller, if there is no plate, put in each corner some tape or filc 2-3mm thick, wich will add pressure on plastic paper cover wich guides paper on delivery roller.
4) Does your jamed paper have any anomalities on itself, like: look like accordian, small wrinkles,...
If yes, check separation plate on fixing unit, pressure of rollers ( between fixing film and press. roller - NIP CHECK ).
5) Beaneath drum you will see small plastic sensor flapper - is he worn out? This is paper registration sensor, if he get in first position before the paper pass him you will get jam code.

Note:
Try to flip paper in cassete, up side down, and try then. If then works, the problem is in moisture on paper.

Hope that helped

Paer prints half the PAGER AND THEN JAMS ... I

The paper must be hitting something to cause it to jam. Take the drum/toner cart out also the paper tray. Unplug it and hold it upside down and see if something shakes out. Do not do this over carpet. If that does not do try a test page. look at the leading edge for dings and bends. If you find a bent spot on the leading edge thats where the problem is. Its almost always a small piece of paper Steven 818-888-0006

Phaser 8200 jams at top area. I think does not strip off drum. accordian fold under top cover. NOt making the exit path.

Took me a while to find the cause for this on mine because it only happened occasionally. Pull the right side cover off, you'll see a large cam with a electromagnetic arm that releases it during each print cycle right above the print drum. The arm or electromagnet has a felt pad on it to reduce noise, and it had gotten sticky. Try completely removing and replacing the pad. I had no luck trying to clean it. You can verify this problem by running the printer without the right cover. If it is working normally, the cam should release on each print cycle, rotate only once and catch again. The release action is only a fraction of a second, so if the arm seems to hang at all, it's probably sticking.

Carrier jam on printer

There could be 4 possibilities.

1. Ink cartridges lids are open which is not allowing cartridges to move freely.
2. Ink cartridges carriage will not move from its original position(left) when front cover is opened
3. Encoder strip is Dirty.
4. Encoder strip is Out of position.

Solution:
1. Open the front cover and check if ink cartridges lids are properly snapped in.

2. Turn the printer off and pull out the power cable from power socket, open the front cover and manually center the ink cartridges carriage.
Clean the metallic rod inside the printer using WD40 or Kleenex from Left corner to right corner properly.

3. Cleaning the encoder strip:
a. printer should be off and disconnected from power.
b. open the front cover.
c. Using a dry, lint free cloth, pinch the encoder strip on the right-hand side of the cartridge carriage and pull your fingers across it toward the right-hand side of the printer and you can move the cartridges carriage to clean the strip completely.
d. Note: The encoder strip is a narrow band of clear plastic and can be difficult to see without direct lighting running parallel to metallic rod.
e. Close the printer and try again to print.

4. Repositioning the Encoder strip.
a. Remove the power cord from the printer.
b. Open the front cover.
c. Gently slide the ink cartridge carrier to the middle of the printer.
d. Gently move the top part of the printer belt to the right.
e. Using an index finger, gently push encoder strip down and then back up, to get it back into the slot located on the back of the ink cartridge carrier.
f. Gently press the strip first to the rear, and then forward, to ensure that it is seated correctly.
g. Manually move the ink cartridge carrier to the left, then to the right, to check the positioning of the encoder strip.
h. Once the encoder strip has been re-seated, close the scanner lid.
i. Re-connect the power cord to the printer and try again to print.

Cover open

The control panel opens to give you access to the scan glass and orginal feed rollers. There are clips either side which keep the cover down with time they can become weak and not hold down the cover correctly. While the control panel cover (top cover) is open carefully bend the clips outwards a little for more pressure. Also these type of machine can also read cover open messages when there is a jam inside. Check for jams including in the drum unit.
