A lot of good electrical stores and even automotive stores carry contact cleaner spray

This is wonderful for getting rid of scratchy volume controls as well as having other uses. Ideally you need access to the volume control itself which may mean opening up the case.
make sure the radio is unplugged and switched off for this.

spray in and around the control and operate the volume from one end to the other a few times.

leave it for a minute or two and reassemble it then power up and check your work.

Volume switch on Panasonic radio has scratchy static sounds

Sounds like oxidized contacts.
If volume is a turn-knob, then wiper-track (inside potentiometer) is worn.
If it's a PTM (push-to-make) standard button, the button contacts may be dusty/dirty/oxidized.
Suggest you:
buy a contact cleaner such as Servisol,
open case,
identify controls
and squirt liberally to wash out any gunk.
Move/press/wiggle scratchy one to help 'scrub' the contacts clean.
If this doesn't help try have control replaced.

I have the xdvd710 when i start my truck up volumn is blastin every time!!!!! how do i get it to stop?????

The dual XDDVD710 RADIO has a volume memmory (it seems), it will go to the last volume setting that it was set to, not play to,(supposly to keep it from blasting you when you turn it on and you forgat u had the volume on blast).
To set it,
1 turn radio on,
2 turn the volume to desire Level you whant it to go when you turn it on (other Levels besside BLAST hopefully) ,
3 push the volume button in, that should do it.
Now you can play your music loud and should you forget that you had it on BLAST (to over come road noise) when you last played your radio, it should start at the preset volume.

Audio is very scratchy/static

If it makes a scratchy sound when the volume is turned up and down then the carbon contacts on the volume control are most likely the culprit you can attempt to clean them with rubbing alchol and a Q-tip.

Scratchy radio volume dial

Use an electronic contact cleaner. You need to shoot it inside the pot through the openings. Then rotate many times. This will remove oxidation on the contacts inside. If you don't use a contact cleaner, turn of f the radio and rotate many times the potentiomer left-right-left-right ...When you turn it on again, you will see the scratcy sound will be reduced but it will come back eventually. The more often you rotate, the less noise it will make. This is a very common problem, nothing to worry about.
