Question about Black & Decker AAW100 Automatic Adjustable Wrench

1 Answer

AAW100 Auto Wrench

I've got the same tool from my Uncle and notice it too has the same problem. However, I did get the tool apart via 3 screws on the side where the Warning label is at. Inside is a small toothed belt that's suppose to wrap around a tiny motor and a drive link to the thumb wheel.

I answered a similar question back in Feb and I talked to B&D service center and they informed me that the belt was not available then but that might have changed since. You can got to Dewaltservicenet.com and type in your model number and see if they now make this available. Good luck

Handle came loose on my craftsman torque wrench. What is the proper way to replace it? I noticed that the nut on the inside came loose. If I re-tighten the nut will it effect the torque calibration? I

I had this problem with mine as well. Most are threaded into the case and don't have nuts inside. I took each bolt out one at a time and cleaned and coated with Blue lock tight and torque back in to factory spec. Just get them snug don't over tighten. Do one at a time so it doesn't come apart. I would have tool recalibrated or at least check it behind a known good torque wrench

No they don't make any replacement parts for end users on this tool. You would have to take it to a service center for repair.

I NEED A DRIVE BELT

I was unable to find any part listing for this belt as this tool is not designed for servicing by the consumer. B&D includes a 2 yr warranty on this wrench. If you are within the warranty period use this link to find a B&D service center near you.

Do they make replacement belts that go with the Black & Decker auto wrench? Thank you

I have asked them in the past and the response I got was it was cheaper to replace than try and have it fixed, If you want to give me the model number I will try again and see if they have changed the status of the part.

Just replace the broken belt with an O Ring of comparable size, it works great and you can't tell the difference!

Hi. The little drive belt snapped in my Black and

New belts can be ordered from Black and Decker's web site but the word is that while the price of the belt is not much the shipping brings the total to more than half the cost of the tool. It's your call. Here is a nifty link to a tool test of the device which shows on page 4 that there is a small screw that removes on the side of the tool to take it apart.

Belt that operates the wrench

I dont see any replacement parts available, But this wrench has a 2 year warranty so I would recommend taking to a service center and letting them fix it for free. There is also a toll free number that you can call at 1-800-544-6986 for help
