How can I fix my drill. I was drilling and it froze up on me. You can turn it one way but not the other

Place the drill bit in a bench vise with the whole machine on it together spray the chuck in with good enough wd40 and take a bench hammer and a great plastic hammer , place the angled tip side to the 3 claws of the chuck that are holding the bit and beat slowly and with care the machine from the bit some times switch inbetween the place to beat every claw of the chuck make a little time to do this but do not forget wd40 to spray after and if the machine is beat from the drill spray the whole chuck inside and try to unlock in the most cases it will function again , otherwise there must be an chuck replaced.

12 volt black and decker keyless chuck will not close. Model CD120G

Try giving the inside a spray with WD40 then try closing the chuck. Check that there is not a left handed screw in the center of the chuck that has become partialy unscrewed. The chuck can jam open and just need a strong gril to release it. If the outer sleve of the chuck is turning but nothiing happens then you will need to get the chuck replaced.

Dewalt 14.4 Chuck will not open or close

You don't say if there is something in the chuck or if it is empty. If there is a bit in the chuck try holding the bit in a vice and gently tap the chuck off, you will probably find it ok then. Give it a quick spray with wd40.
If there is nothing in the chuck check that the left hand screw in the center of the chuck has not become unscrewed and screw it back in (Anticlockwise) it can jam the jaws.
If screw is ok then try spraying inside with wd40 and use a pair of grips or a wrench to free it.
If all else fails take it to a repair agent. You don't sat which model it is but there is one version that has and will only take a very expensive chuck so get a quote first. \it might just need a strong pair of hands.

The drill chuck is locked and not shifting forward or reverse

Check that there is not a reverse screw in the bottom of the chuck which has become loose. This can jam the chuck, screw it in (anti clockwise) or Spray inside with WD40, then use a large pair of grips to free it in both directions.

Chuck is stuck open thank model973227070

Try spraying WD40 or similar into jaws of chuck and alow a couple of minutes for it to penetrate before trying to close it.
Also use cloths on the chuck while tightening to get a better grip.

Hi, The jaws that grip the drill bits jam when closing approx 2mm in and will not close even close to a quarter of the way.

Has the bolt that holds the chuck on to the drill come loose? Did the drill get dropped? if it did it may of bent something. Have you tryed spraying it with WD40 to wash away any dirt that may be jamming it up. Hope this may help but with out looking at it I am only guessing.

Mastercraft seized up chuck

being that new, it should not have seized up, all you can do is try spraying wd40 into the chuck between the teeth and mandrill. if it doesnt work, replace the chuck, it is fairly inexpensive
