Question about GE GTD120 System

1 Answer

We have a model GTD120 Home Theater package and the remote control seems to have permanently turned on 'commentary' for DVD's that have it. I searched through the user manual and don't see anything mentioning this functionality. Do you know anything about this?

Have you tried using your remote to switch audio tracks while it plays? I'm pretty sure all players allow this and then you can select among any of the available tracks on the disc. If there is only one track then make sure this used DVD is not a bootleg.turn it off with the Audio on the Remote Control. ----------------------------Unfortunately, you can't turn off the commentary with the remote control and it's somewhat awkward to go into the Bonus menus to find the area to turn off the commentary. There is also a choice of commentary or no commentary with the deleted scenes. So, if you turn on the commentary during the movie and then look at the deleted scenes, you have to turn the commentary off if you don't want to have commentary during the deleted scenes and.....it becomes very confusing, you have the choice of commentary or no commentary while you're watching the scenes, but make sure you choose wisely because you can't switch from commentary to dialogue in the middle of a scene. ----- this will help.
--------- thanks.please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya.

Generally, remote controls for DVD systems have a button labeled "Audio". This button changes which audio track you will hear during the movie. Common tracks include English, French, Spanish, Commentaries, and occasionally Audio for the Hearing Impaired.

It seems odd for the latter audio track to be default, but clicking the Audio button until you have the plain English track should work. I would consult the manual if you have it on hand to see if your system is capable of remembering which track to start on.

Hope this helps.

Remote control or universal remote that works on my durabrand home theater system 2004 model # HT 3915

The easiest thing to do would be to go to an electronics store, look on the back of the remote control package and look for Durabrand.
It should come with a booklet with the setup codes.

Thats all I got for now.

Hope that helped, good lukc, please rate.

DVD MALFUNCTION [MODEL PIONEER XV-DV131 (DVD/CD HOME THEATER]

I have the same problem with my XV-DV333. Search on inet and this came up: "... Pick Out One Of These! But I am unable to select any region using the remote control or the buttons on the player. What do I do? You need to get a Pioneer Service Remote. When you have it you should press: [ESC] [A.MON] [Numbers], where [Numbers] correspond to the region number you want to set. Be aware that you can only set this once, if you set the wrong region number for your area, there is no turning back. " WTF! Am I supposed to get a service remote to get this thing working again. I haven't done anything and it worked before:/

Assuming your speaker wires are securely connected, and that you have tried more than 1 or 2 DVD's, access your main menu via your Remote Control and Restore Defaults. If you still cannot get even so much as noise, manually turn your volume control, and ensure that the LED lights follow your turning movement. It has a fairly fancy volume controller, and if the carbon liner witin the physical volume control is cracked, you cannot adjust the volume even if you use your remote.

Are you using component cables? If so, there is a switch in the back. Switch it to p-scan (progresive scan) It worked for me.
