The most likely thing is that you need to adjust your power savings settings on the computer in Control Panel. Watching a movie doesn't register as "activity" to the system so if you are set to Sleep or Hibernate after an hour that would typically cut you off half way thorught the movie.

You can change the power savings settings or every 30-40 minutes move the mouse around or click the keyboard etc. to restart the timer.

    1. Go to netflix.com/clear cookies to clear the Netflix cookie. This will sign you out of Netflix.com. 2. Select Netflix Home, then Member Sign In to log back in and play your movie or TV shows again.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I can't see my Netflix movie on my laptop I can hear it but I can't see it

Shut down other applications when watching Netflix on your computer.
If you are watching Netflix on a Windows computer, it uses a program called Silverlight to play the video. If your processor goes above 80% usage, Silverlight will shut down the video and play audio only.

Can't log in, keep getting sent to download Silver something, its allready in there. so now what???

Silver Light is required to use netflix on your computer,
Once it downloads and says it's installed you will need to reboot your computer. You can do this by shutting it all the way down, or choosing the reboot option.
Once it powers back on, you should be able to open netflix website and begin watching movies.

These steps may also help.

A few things may cause this (1) your Network (2) your Network Strength (3) your Anti-Virus. Cheek all this to make sure there are ok and if there are and the problem persist, Troubleshoot, and if it continuous give it to a technician near you. Cheers

Immediate shutdown, Heat problem, Low battery back-up

I have the same computer and had the same issues. It finally got to the point where it no longer tured on at all. I sent it in to Dell and they repaired in about 2 weeks. Send it in now before your warranty expires. But be sure to call support first and get an RMA number or you may never see your system again.

If your computer has these hardware specs:

Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or higher, or Windows Vista; Internet Explorer version 6 or higher; Windows Media Player version 11 or higher; an active broadband connection to the Internet; 1.0 GHz processor; 512 MB RAM; 3 GB free hard disk drive space.

you should be ok with the movies download and watch.

Other wise you will probablt need new hardware which is really tough to upgrade on a laptop.
