When booting my Toshiba Satellite A300, it gets to the command line and then it starts a quick interval of beeps. When I hit F12 it stops after a few seconds and then takes me to the log on screen.
In the password field it seems like the the key is stuck and continues to enter something when I play with the keyboard it finally stops. However when I try to enter an ''S'' for instance it enters an S and W at the same time.
So to I tried connecting an external keyboard and it works just fine. However, the laptop keyboard does not.
Sounds like the keyboard is your main problem and the source of all your woes. I'll give you a link below for the service manual that will guide you through the process of replacing the keyboard. just copy and paste the link in your address bar of your internet browser. I have a Toshiba Satelite A300 Laptop and until recently the Fingerprint reader worked fine. Coincidence or not, after a Windows update June 09, just recently, it no longer prompts to save a new password in the Password bank when i'm on the internet and doesnt have any of the old existing ones stored in the Password bank anymore either. (its empty)I It does however, still prompt for initial windows log on when starting up. Strange & frustrating !
