Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I've got a Safety First black and white baby monitor.. it's only about a year old and the picture tube has gone out on it.. this is the 3rd one we have had.. In the past we return them to the store for an exchange, well this time its been too long and they dont even have them anymore like this so they arent going to buy my story this time.. I'm SURE this picture tube can be located SOMEWHERE and I've got the thing all opened up and the plug off the back of the picture tube. There was a ring around the tube seemingly to hold it in place. I've removed the ring but the tube is SOLIDLY in there.. I've pulled and pulled on it to remove it from the glass screen it's plugged into but to no avail.. Anyone know what the heck Im doing wrong? Is this just all ONE piece in the cheap ole thing? Im no TV technician obviously but I really think this shouldn't be a big deal if I can get it out and find some numbers on it. Can anyone help with this? it's a small 5" black and white monitor, just seems to be built like the old time black and white TV's..

On this kind of baby monitor the tube is effectively built in.
This unit are usually considered not serviceable and are built not to be repaired.
I am sure you realized this already. I am answering because your question has been re-posted.

17 yr. old 35" RCA loses color intermittently. Picture & sound ok

Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
