Question about Canon PowerShot SD890 IS Digital Camera
Well this could be one of a few issues. First, did you press the display button (disp.)? This will sometimes turn the LCD on and off in some models and not just remove icons on the screen. If that doesn't work, I would think you have a bad CCD. This is what captures an image and turns it into a digital signal. If this is bad, it will either show purple tint on the screen, lines or once in a worse state, all black like you're experiencing now.
Lastly I would think it could be a stuck aperture on your lens. I would email the guys at this place, hopefully they can help you out!! I wish you luck.
