I couldn't find much on this, but I did find this add for both a P90 and 7500DX, and I'm thinking there's no compatability, since the P90 isn't listed in numerical order- could be why they're selling them. As you've related, the D50 is listed as compatible.

Possibly you could use some device. You might call a few local camera shops to pick the tech's mind, they might know offhand. Also, there are digital photo clubs that might be worth visiting or calling some of the members. They are happy to share.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Getting the promaster 7400edf flash to meter properly with canon eos 60d

The flash model for Canon is 7308 it might be the correct flash but programed for the wrong brand/manufacture. The way I see this flash is that Promaster produces this 7400edf to work on all the major camera brands but it's programed for a specific camera. The flash firmware updatability is done by a dealer. Another thing I ran into with one of my students cameras (a Canon) was you needed to go into the menu to select external flash over internal. I believe Canon is doing this due to the video capabilities of the camera.

Is it ok to use a promaster 7000m flash with a canon eos t1i? I don't want to damage the camera.

Yes, the Promaster 700M, with its trigger voltage of about 3 volts, is safe to use with modern digital cameras.

I have a Canon EOS 40D camera. We are having problems with using an external flash. The pictures always come out extremely dark with the external flash. The flash seems to work fine, it flashes...

I don't know if this will help and this post is two months old. The camera store may be right that the synchronization is the issue which tends me to point a finger at the external flash. There are at least three different flash units that will flash when the picture is made but only one type will sync with the camera. A digital flash unit is different from a film flash so a Canon EX type is required to sync with Canon TTL or TTL II digital cameras. An EZ will flash but it's off a bit, so I can only assume that your Promaster and Canon flash units are for film cameras. Okay and another thing that could be throwing things off a bit is the camera may have been programed in Custom Functions to use "Second Curtain" or "Rear Curtain". Just seams to me if the built in flash works then it's the external units at fault.

Is it compatible to use with a Nikon D-50?

No, the Vivitar 283 does not have TTL (Through The Lens metering capability) and the voltage in the flash may be much higher than that in the camera. Some of the old 283 flashes had a very high operating current that, when the flash is left one and removed from the camera can damage the camera operating circuts. Find a Nikon SB 400, 600, 800 or 900 speedlite, or a Promaster 7200 or 7500 for a great less expensive flash for this camera.

The 285 was a fine flash but is not compatible with the newer TTL and exposure system in the digital cameras. Buy a new flash like the Promaster 7500EDF this is the 285 of today.
