Re: laptop compaq armada 1750

Take the power cord off the PC also Main battery take it out. Open the lid and near the ALT and CTRL you have two small springs, push them back and open up the keyboard. On right side there is CMOS battery connected to the mainboard, disconnect it. Put the power cord on, power on the PC and when prompted press F1. System starts. Wait till everything loads then shut it down properly, take the power cord off and connect the CMOS batt. to the mainboard. close the keyboard and that's it. The problem appears when the system shuts down not properly(battery empty).

Hello jazzmania67
The best solution in this case is to use a recovery tool to recover and store your data on another drive
Free Recuva works fine :
Do not try to recover all at once but each category at a time , documents , pictures , music ...etc...
If it fails , try this one . It's not free but very efficient : Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to unwanted erasing , system sabotage, virus corrupted partitions, drives crash, physical damage,ect..
If you still don't have success , you will have to go to a recovery office but let's hope not because it will cost you a lot of money .

Every time I put in a disc in my HP dvd writer 530i-my computer crashes with a blank black screen and I have to reboot. Help

The driver has got corrupted due to some reason, whether virus or otherwise and a reinstall of the device should sort it out. Reboot the laptop and go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager->DVD/CD ROM Drives. Here you will find your drive listed. Select it and remove it. Then reboot the laptop. Go to same place again and from the Menu select Actions->Scan for New HW. when your laptop finds a DVD drive it will detect the drive and load its drivers. Then it should not pose any problems.

Notebook cant see my 30 giga hdd

i assume the armada is a compaq product? if so, you may want to read your installation documentation- hdd may have jumpers, or spacers that need to be re-located! if it's not a compaq 'compliant' product, then good luck! compaq hardware is very 'proprietary'! meaning, if our laptop don't like it, then it don't work!! i've tried compaq ram on a toshiba- slotted right in! no prob. 'til i booted! didn't like it! seems very unfriendly to me! if your hdd 'kit' is supposedly compatible with your laptop, then, as i stated- check dox for jumper, or spacer settings. remove hdd and check for bent pins!! if there are any, very, very carefully- using fine tweezers- straighten them until they socket properly!
break one of and you're s.o.l.!
you may have a friend with the proper tools, and a steady hand who could assist, it there's a bent pin!
the hdd can appear to seat properly, but still have a bent pin. check any jumper/spacer settings first! also compatibility with your armada!
good luck!

It is not a hard drive issue. If hard drive is a problem system wont boot till motherboard processor. Try to reinstall your OS. It will fix your issue.

The 80GB would be better, these days games take alot of room and 20GB would fill up very fast and they would start asking why cant I install my game? becouse the disk is full after few months.

80GB will go along way as long as the useless files are removed.
