Question about Western Digital Computers & Internet
I installed a new WD Cavier 500 Gb hard drive to replace a failed HD. I cannot install Windows XP from my CD. It will boot with the CD, says it is installing, but then will reboot and start all again. What am I doing wrong?I also tried to use theData Lifeguard Tools **** that came with the HD, but it won't boot the HDD
Your problem could be that the hard disk is not ACTIVE.
Boot up with a DOS disk (floppy or CD or USB) and run FDISK, select 4 to Display Partition Info. If the C drive does not have A under Status then press ESC and select 2 to Set active partition and then set Partition C to active.
