Question about Mad Dog Multimedia FX 5200 (128 MB) Graphic Card

1 Answer

3 seconds of video, then dark screen

I have a 128MB Mad Dog video card that only seems to display video in a 3 - 5 second burst. The funny thing is, if I turn my Logitech LCD monitor off and then on again, I get another 3 -5 sec burst of video before the screen goes dark again. Any Ideas? I'm not sure of the video card model, but the s/n is 3A001702849. Thanks.

Sounds like the monitor doesn't support the resolution being fed to it by the video card, experiment in the display setting with resolutions. Start low resolution and work your way up to what is comfortable and nice to work with. If the monitor does not like to display anything still for more than a few seconds, try upgrading all the drivers from the manufacturers web site.

It wouldnt turn on new batteries are in it. Screen funny

Is the screen funny like it's telling jokes? Or is it falling down funny? Im not sure, but if its dimly lit funny or too dark funny try this: hit the second key and then hold down up. This will darken the screen. If its too darkthen hit the second key and the press down.

Low brightness on second monitor using Radeon X1300 video adapter

According to the X1300 specifications here it does support multiple displays. The option to configure the display is found in the Catalyst application. Do you have the latest version of that? You can get it from their website.
