Question about InFocus X1 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Black and white specks from InFocus X1 projector

I have the same problem. Sometimes it works. Other times - all the time recently - nothing but a black screen with white, horizontal specks on the right side of the "screen" projected image.
The brightness seems good, just no image. Any help here?

If you can get a menu when you press the menu button, reset the settings to factory default. if you don't get a menu, the color wheel or the dmd chip is bad. either way, you'll have to replace the entire optical engine. and unfortunately, infocus no longer has any more in stock.

The bulb on X1 blew out, I replaced the bulb, the

it's the fan. if it won't spin full power, it can't cool down the projector and it'll shut down. there are 2: 60mm (part # 526-0153-00) and 80mm (526-0152-00). both can be purchased from infocus or an infocus service center.

Color stopped working after hearing an audible ping sound on my infocus x3

it is the colorwheel that has gone bad. unfortunately, you cannot replace individual parts of the optical engine on the x1, you have to replace the whole engine (which is almost $2000). i think it's time to get a new one.

Silver thing fell out of X1 Infocus Projector What is It?

yes indeed. that is the colorwheel. it spins and sincs with the dmd chip to give you color and an image. unfortunately, infocus does not sell individual parts for the optical engine. you will need to replace the entire engine (which is almost $2000). time to get a new projector.

INfocus X1 does nothing after bulb replacement

first off, make sur you have the right lamp (sp-lamp-009, 2 white wires. not the sp-lamp-018, one white, one red. the wires are in different locations in the plug). if you don't hear the colorwheel whirring, that'd be the next step. however, you cannot buy just the colorwheel. infocus does not sell individual parts of the optical engine. but that wouldn't matter, seeing as how they don't sell the engine anymore. also make sure the lamp door is completely closed. there is a peg on it that activates a switch to let the projector know it's closed. if you remove the lamp and use a flat-head screwdriver to activate that switch, turn on the projector. look inside the lamp housing and see if the colorwheel spins. if not, i think you need a new projector. if it does, check the fans. they can be replaced.

Image Problems - Grainy Black and White Image

Hello Carmen,
Well this can usually be caused by one of two things.
#1 the main board has failed and needs to be replaced.
#2 The firmware's flash data has been corrupted and need to be re-flashed. Both of these solutions will need to be performed by an authorized technician.
I have parts for these projectors if you want to learn more regarding this you can contact me at,

InFocus X1 power problem

something blew the fuse the first time. if it blew again, the issue remains. something may be arcing. check near the plug, or if there is anything bouncing around in there or a crossed wire.
