There is no better way to say this. The computer is dead without the drivers to all the hardware.

Sorry get the board installer cd which is likelt to have the drivers contained in it.

Cheers.

Down laod xp recovery disk

If you're running Windows XP and Windows crashes or becomes unusable, you may have to run a Windows XP recovery setup disk to make your computer usable again. When purchased, many computers don't come with a Windows XP recovery setup disk, but you can download one for free from Microsoft. The Windows XP recovery setup disk holds the computer software and files that you need to assist you in rebuilding your operating system.

Place a formatted floppy disk in your floppy disk drive. You will need six formatted floppy disks. Visit Microsoft's Download Center and download the version of the setup disk for your version of Windows (see links in Resources). http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=E8FE6868-6E4F-471C-B455-BD5AFEE126D8 Home Edition http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8030 Professional Edition set up disks for floppy http://www.download3000.com/download_17676.html XP Recovery CD Maker Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional Edition have their own recovery setup disks and you must use the correct disk for your version of Windows. Click "Download" and then "Save." Find your floppy drive or optical media drive on the menu and click "OK." If Windows isn't functioning at all, you will have to perform these actions from a working PC. Remove the last floppy disk when the Windows XP recovery disk download is complete and place it in the computer on which you need to use it. Shut down your computer and then turn it back on. If your computer prompts you to boot from the disk, press Enter. If it doesn't, you'll have to go into your BIOS to set the computer to boot first from your disk drive. When your computer boots from disk it will automatically start running the Windows XP recovery setup disk from which you can then set up Windows XP. Hope this helps.

NOT ABLE TO INSTALL WINDOW XP

Hi meetabdullah,

Have a nice day.

If you're running Windows XP and your computer software crashes or becomes unusable, you may have to run Windows XP recovery to reestablish your software and make your computer usable once again. When purchased, many computers don't come with a Windows XP recovery disk, but you can download one for free. The Windows XP recovery disk holds almost all of the computer software and files that came loaded with your PC and can assist you in rebuilding your hard drive.

Here are some instructions that somehow could help you:

1.Place a formatted disk in your disk drive. Click on the "Download a Windows XP recovery disk from Microsoft" link in Resources below. Click "Download." Then click "Save." Find your disk drive on the menu and click "OK."

2. Remove the disk when the Windows XP recovery disk download is complete, and place it in the computer on which you need to use it.

3.Shut down your computer; then turn your computer back on. Your computer will automatically start up running on the Windows XP recovery disk, which will allow you to install Windows XP once again.

Windows XP did not start successfully. The screen gives me five opitions. Safe mode, safe mode w/networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configburation and start windows normally. All...

There are several methods to get a non-booting PC to work again. Because you don't have an XP disc I'd suggest select the option that says "Don't restart on boot failure" or something along those lines. Then when it goes to a blue screen, use this website to help you further diagnose the problem: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm

Computer cant read drivers after isntalling new HD

Computer sounds fine, CD sounds dead! Try copying the drivers onto a new CD using another computer & try them in the laptop again. The drivers may be Vista-specific anyway, so try downloading XP drivers from Toshiba website.

Service pack3 crashed puter - after reinstall machine thinks extra hard drive is a disk drive.

You can get to the BIOS by hitting DEL or F2 at start up.

However, that does not have anything to do with a drive letter.

Drive letter designation is set in
START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS>COMPUTER MANAGEMENT>DISK MANAGEMENT.

Hope this helps.

Ethernet Drivers for Compaq Evo for XP

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=998

This should work.

And just to add that your system specs are really old and you should think about upgrading. 128 mb ram upgradable to 2 gigs.

Integrated 4x agp graphics...you should be able to install a new agp graphics card.

Or you should buy a new computer if you dont know how to build your own which can be tricky and expensive if you cant reuse many parts.

Compaq Presario SR 1520 NX won't boot up, no recovery disk

If the computers WERE running Xp (CHECK by asking the kids who were using them)
Ask if they saw the xp theme screen.
If you haven't got a Xp system disk then i suggest you buy one Yes it is going to cost but you cant really expect to have a pc or two without a system disk. You'll only need one to get them going.
If you have one or when you get one PRESUMING the pc's are running xp DO the following BUT goto (number 2 at the bottom of the page)

(1) Switch a computer on & press delete to get into the bios settings.
Here You need to changed over the Bootable priority of the hardware.
Usually the order is
Floppy
Hard disk
Cd.
These need to be changed so the cd will have priority eg.
cd
hard disk
Floppy
When this is done Save the settings & restart the computer when you can
When you do start the computer put your system disk in the cd drive
The computer will ask if you want to boot the computer from cd
Do this by (usually pressing a button)
Windows will start from disk & go through the motions as if you are doing a fresh install
But you dont need a fresh install you just want to REPAIR windows.
From here I will NOT continue to say what needs to be done Unless you respond Saying you would like to know more.
I DO feel your I.T. guys SHOULD Be a little more helpful
With that respect they should know how to install Windows XP & how to repair Windows XP using the system disk
IF THEY DONT want to help you from there GET BACK TO ME
& ill continue to tell you HOW to repair your pcs'
IT IS FIRSTLY advisable to FIND OUT what OS's your pcs a runnig & if So HAVE YOU/ARE YOU going to obtain a system disk
Hope this isnt Too confusing for you
Hope ive been some help
So Far.......

(2) Before Rushing out & buying a OS disk Lets check to see if your Little devils havent changed the system Bootible priority
(YOU never know)
Turn on the computer & when asked to press the delete key to enter the bios setup
Here in the Bios set up you want to check that the Bootible priority hasnt changed.
Usually the priorty is in this order
Floppy
Hard disk
cd
If it has been changed it could be in any order but usually the (hard disk) is either 1st or 2nd.
If is has changed Change it back to my recommended & save it
Re start you Pc.
If the pc doesnt start STILL
goto 1
NOTE : ASK your I.T. guys for help IF your a little scared to follow these instructions Also the instrutions At (Number 1)
