Fixing picture (colour) setting

I have been trying endlessly to fix my tv's colour/picture settings.

I have no idea what is the correct combination of brightness, contrast, colour, sharpness etc.

I have a Sanyo tv.

Please help!

Re: Fixing picture (colour) setting

If your TV is not too ancient there should be a button that says auto set or return to default or default....try it. Tango....and hope this helps.

Also make certain you are using the correct source (HDMI) on your TV, and also verify your display settings (you didn't list what version of windows, etc. but you can check to make sure that windows is seeing your secondary display. Post back with more info if you want specific help for your version of windows.

Make sure that you have the correct display mode selected. While many connections like a VGA to VGA connection will automatically detect, I don't think a VGA to RCA adapter will. Go to control panel/display and see if your computer has detected the second display.
Also make sure the RGB or RCA is selected as the input source on your TV.
Once these are both set correctly you should be in business!

Cant get my tv out to work

Boot in safe mode. (press F8 during boot, just before windows starts loading). If the desktop is then displayed, the graphics card is still functional. I am not very familiar wih NVidia graphics drivers but you may want to check (after a normal reboot) in the NVidia control panel. FIrst try cloning the image (both screens get same picture and resolution) If that doesn't work, try lowering the resolution. When you have found a resolution where the tv does display a picture, extend your dektop to it, set your monitor back to its default resolution, and keep the tv at the resolution you've found works.
If nothing out of all this helps, I think you should try reconnecting (and replacing, if all else fails) the cable connecting PC and tv. If that doesn't solve the problem either, well..then I'm out of ideas. The only option left is that some hardware is broken, and I can't fix that from here.
What you could try is to reinstall your graphics driver, although that is not liely to help, since you've only installed it recently.

I hope this solves your problem,

Screen not sharp. colour combinations only 32 bit. Suspects the wrong VGA driver for the HP 8430 Laptop was installed. Needs the right driver.

Make sure the screen is set for 1680 x 1050 when you right click on the desktop and go to Personalize... Display Settings. If it is set higher or lower than that it will look fuzzy and weird.

If you would like to reinstall the driver it is here:

Just select the OS and go for it.
