Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
A load of clothes was on the spin cycle when I noticed the sound suddenly changed. When I went to check it out, it was not spinning. I depressed the lid switch with my finger and it clicked and what I think was the motor started to run, but it still wouldn't spin.
You need to check the motor coupling first you remove the two screws on the front panel they are located one on each side either on th front or back corners you will see two metal clips remove them then unplug the lid switch now you can remove the housing the coupling is at the bottom between the motor and transmission remove the two clips from the pump use a large screw driver to hold pump out of your way next remove the two screws and clips from the motor the motor should come off you will see the coupling check it it is more than likely broken
