You should get a window asking you where to send scanned image. If you select a document program such as word, it should save it into that format.

No disc to install HP Deskjet f4180 printer


First step is to know the Version ( system type ) of your PC.

Click on START button
Right click on Computer and left Click on Properties
From the New Window Check for System Type : It will be mentioned as 32 bit operating system or 64 bit operating system. ( Remember this )

Click on the link below to download the drivers.
When the page is open - Choose the Operating system with System Type and click on Next

Click on Drivers and Product installation option and click on HP Full Feature Software and Drivers
Click on Download button on top and click SAVE ( Remember the location you save the file )
You need to run the downloaded software.
Disconnect the USB Cable from printer before you start the installation as the screen will prompt you when you connect it.

Download Drivers

I lost my disc to my hp deskjet f4180 printer

Hello, got a little issue I'm on PPC. What I want to do is to choose a paper size and a custom border. I've done done creating a border. Any ideas, how to accomplish my task? Using HP F4180 DJ

Cant save a scanned document as a pdf

You have to make sure your telling your scanner what your scanning. Most often it defaults as a mixed image meaning text and image. You have to tell it to scan text only and then see what options you have. If this doesnt help then do as i stated above choosing text only and save to computer as a microsoft word document. Now make sure you have latest Acrobat reader 9.0 installed and now with your word document open in top left File button there should be an option to convert to pdf format. Ok go to all programs -> HP -> HP Solution Centre
Then click Scan.
IT should work now!

Scan to Adobe

nope..that's how it'll need to convert them with an adobe product, like publisher or adobe acrobat

Scanning a document

Easiest way...

1. Choose SCAN
2. Then SAVE AS *remember where you saved file.
3. On the FORMAT options when saving choose "JPEG"
4. Open your email and choose ATTATCH A FILE
5. Choose FILE from where you saved it
6. Add your text to email and click send email.
7. If you want to check FILE was sent
8. Click on Email SENT you should see it.

HP automatically saves to the My Scans folder if you are on a Windows OS/ Platform. You can change this in the in HP Director Appplication that ships with most HP's. The route to there is: - Start - All Programs - HP (or Hewlitt Packard) - HP Director - Settings.
