My manfrotto 190xprob has a leg that is getting loose

My manfrotto 190xprob has a leg that is getting a little loose when pulling outward from collapsed. There is an (apparent) allen fitting that I think might tighten it. My problem is that I cant find a tool to tighten this screw. Do you know what this allen-like screw is and its size?

Take a look at the leg clamp. If it cover both top prtion of leg and also the prtion that slides out, then tightn the nuts . They use and 8mm socket I believe. You can order parts from www.bogentripodparts.com

Manfrotto 804RC2 Tripod head

Hi Shirley
-When you look at the center column you should see a small plastic 'nub' about 1/2" from the bottom.
-When raising the column in preparation to move to the horizontal position this must be depressed or it will not 'pass through' the top casting.
-Once this has occurred the column can be raised enough that it will then freely drop into the horizontal position.

Trouble opening legs of my manfrotto tripod

Manfrotto have great warranties. If it is new, send it to Manfrotto to repair/replace the parts and make it whole again. If parts are worn it will be hard to tell you how to fix it without pictures, or know which model tripod you have.

Leg stuck on Manfrotto 732CY tripod

Other than the leg locks themselves, sometimes Manfrotto expands the last portion of the leg tube that slides into the leg tube above it. If you need some spare parts you can find them here.

How do I take my ball & head from the normal position to the center position inside the tripod legs? I want to use it for close up macro shots.

I was unable to find a picture of this tripod and head arrangement so on experience only I'll suggest how to do this. All of my Manfrotto tripods whether round tube or octagonal center post design work the same way. At the the bottom of the center post is a cap, it might be a rubber plug, twist lock type with a hook, or a rectangular stopper. Which ever this plug/cap can come out will a little effort. It's there to prevent the user from inadvertently pulling the center post out while extending to maximum height. You need to loosed the tension scree/lock off loose but not necessary to remove the screw. Then remove the center post by pulling it right out of the tripod housing. Now invert the post and reinstall it from the bottom side up, the tricky part is to realign the friction/tension lock and sometimes I use a pen/pencil to hold it over to the side while I insert the center post. once in place tighten the friction lock. The draw back I had at first was using the camera upside down. I've since solved that problem with a C type bracket. Hope this helps

The leg axles of my Manfrotto 190PROB are loose and the tripod legs will not stay spread when I carry it. How do I take off the top yoke to access the allen screws to tighten the leg pivots?

The top yoke of a Manfrotto 190PROB is held in place by a spring mechanism. The spring mechanism is just behind the screw that tightens the center column. First remove the center collumn. Inside the to yoke (where the centre column was) there is a small hole. Poke something in that hole to push back the spring mechanism. You should now be able to push the yoke out towards the top. When the yoke is removed you will see the three screws that keep the hinges tight. Reasembly is straight forward. Simply re-enter the yoke in such a was as to push back the spring mechanism.

I'm trying to attach a Canon EOS Rebel XS to a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod, but the tripod socket on the camera is too small. How do I attach them?

You need a head. The tripod has a standardized screw for accepting a tripod head, which is a larger screw than for the tripod mount on the camera. There are a variety of heads available, ball heads, three-axis heads, geared heads, pan-and-tilt heads, and more.

How to take apart manfrotto monopod 682b? I need to take it apart to fit in suitcase and then put back together. It is about 3" too long to fit on airplane.

You can loosen the top screw on the top leg lock. Just enough so you can pull the bottom legs out of the main tube. Ths shoud shorten it up a bit. You wil need a small spintight or wrench.

Broken leg clip on Manfrotto Modo 785B tripod the head is non-removable on this model and I don't want to have to replace whole tripod so is there somewhere I can buy a new leg clip or get it...

Yes you can. But I saw that your Manfrotto is possible to buy for 50 Euro.
Anyway the part you need is the full leg called CODE:
R785,203B
you can see the datasheet on the spare part site of Manfrotto:

Reassembling telescopic sections for a 676B monopod

Each leg lock has a leg locking lever and a screw that hold the clamp assembly tight to the leg. Unlock the leg lock lever, loosen the screw above it that holds the clamp tight to the leg. The legs should fit into each other sice each leg is slightly larger or smaller then then next one. Slide the clamps in the approprite places and tighten the screw enough to hold the clamp assembly tight, but do not over tighten it. Over tightening will damage the 679 tubes.
