Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

The player tells me there's not enough free space for music DB and I need to free 30 mb. At that time the player was empty. I've erased the disc and it still gives me the same message. What's the deal.

Try formatting the disk and then if that doesnt work run a scandisk check on it.if even that doesnt work, use sansa updater that may have come in the CD provided alongwith the player.

" Not enough space for music DB. Please free 8 MB." Huh??

wire it up to a windows pc, treat it like a harddisk, search through the folders for the mp3's you won't to get rid off, delete the files you want from it, like you would from a computer.then copy some mp3's
to it, unplug, finished.
formatting it might erase some of the software the player needs to run, so you better don't. enjoy your favorite music :-)

My sansa MP3 (2 GB ) is out of storage, but won't let me delete

There may be a easier solution But plug it into your computer Then, in the go to my computer in your start area.
you should have a removable disk (D:), this is your player.
Right click on the tab and go to Format, click on quick format and then start.
The next window that should pop up will say that it will may erase all the files on the device. That is ok. It will erase all the music you had on there, but that is easy enough to load back on.
Wait for it to finish, unplugg it, turn it on, and you should be good. All you have to do now is reload the music!
But make sure you dont exceed 2gb or you may have to do this again

"Not enough space for music DB. Please free up 30 MB"

The mp3 manufacturers are often being disingenuous - they plug an mp3 player into a Macintosh, and it shows up, so they say, "Hey! It's Mac-compatilbe!" But, the software is certainly not Mac-compatible, so if you ever experience a problem, there is no way to fix it. Also, the Sansa e200 series does not recognize iTunes format.

In general, I would agree that you need to reformat your player, but I have no idea how to do that on a Mac (I'm good at a lot of things, but I'm Mac-illiterate).

whenever i turn on my sansa m230 mp3 player, it displays the message, "not enough space for music DB, please free 8mb." And so i plug it into my friends computer and when i open the music folder on the device, its empty, even though it says that there is quite a bit of space used up. Do you have any answers?.
