Question about HP Compaq Presario S3000nx (DC475A#ABA) PC Desktop
When the computer is loading there are a bunch of lines going vertical on the screen and then the screen goes black and says input signal is out of range please change to recomended settings (1680 by 1050). So far i have checked the wire conecting the moniter to the computer and tried the auto button on the moniter. But nothing has worked so far.
Please see this HP support article for help troubleshooting the monitor. If you have another computer or another monitor available to swap, this will help to isolate the cause of the problem as the monitor or the video/graphics settings or card in the computer. This article could also prove helpful, and just in case, here's a link to your hP home support page.
You could try tapping F8 as the system boots and enter safe mode. This will use only default vga settings for the monitor. If you can enter safe mode ok, go to the display settings and lower the resolution a couple of notches and reboot. If that doesn't help, try lowering the refresh rate to 60 hz, though that's better for lcd than crt. Apply & reboot.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Try going into safe mode (VGA mode) and see if this works. If you cannot go into safe mode you may have a problem with your video card. Also if you set your resolution too high for the monitor, you will get this problem. If you have another computer and remote desktop is enabled on your problem PC try to Remote Desktop in from the working comptuer and change the resolution settings to a lower setting on the problem computer.
