I have the same problem, as far as the remote. My remote doesn't work anymore. I went in Google and typed in B19WM. They have the remote at tv.remote.com. It will cost you approx $34.

IT TAKES A while to have screen on theTV

If I understand your (very brief) problem correctly, the problem is that when you turn on your TV or DVD player, it takes a while to show anything. If the time is less than a minute for a dvd player, or less than ten seconds for turning the TV on itself, then this actually isn't a problem. Modern TVs and various other tech often take several seconds to turn on, and that may be the only 'problem' you're experiencing. It's an unfortunate fact of modern life. Things take a little while to start up sometimes. If the time for the TV is in excess of about thirty seconds, or the time for a DVD/Bluray/whatever player is more than five minutes... Well, then it could be a problem, but I'm afraid I'd need more information than you've provided.

Hooking up dvd player

I searched everywhere i could think of for a manual or a diagram of the back of the player with no luck - any chance you can post back a photo of the back of the dvd player, then we can easily talk you through what to connect to what and what cables to use. :)

Buy a DVD cleaning kit follow the instructions, sometimes brings it back to life. If no change! the assembly will need to be replaced,"not cost effective" cheaper to replace.

Luxor tv with dvd player was bought for me from Asda I've had problems with playback of dvds pretty much since I've had it it has a tendency to freeze and not play and on very several occasions it...

Hi Danny.
this could be a couple off things wrong here.
1,could be a faulty dvd player.
2,could do with having a lens cleaning disc put through it.
3,could be a faulty lens reader.
if i was you before i do anything big to it i would run a lens cleaning disc through it and see if it cleans the lens that reads the discs.
if this does not work i would take it back,or get someone to have a look at it for you.

I can't get the dvd player on the tv. I don't know

I've reviewed your post, evey2011, and would be glad to assist you with this! The DVD should plug directly into the TV. When you plug the cable into the TV, there should be some type of designation for the ports, such as AV, Video, or Component. What you should do is look for the designation of the ports. If you can't make it out, put a DVD disc in the player and have it playing, then use the TV remote to cycle through the inputs on the TV to find the picture input.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any further questions!

DVD player on Polaroid 1913-TDXB is no longer reading DVDs.

I'm not a Tecnition, but in me experiance with D.V.D. players. I've managed to burn out 6 Players as I tend to go to sleep with the player on and they run all night & after taking an expensive one to a repair shop. His profesional opinion & £35 later (The cost of a fairly good NEW player) He told me plainly It was just worn out & not worth repairing. Apparantly the eye of the player is simalar to a light bulb & has a life expectancy limit, even the more expensive players have a life limit.
So if you've try'd the disc head cleaning kit to no avail, it might be time for a new player. I bought my last player for £2 at a car boot sale, that was Six mth's ago & it's still going strong.
Or you could do the same as me & waist £35 or more to get it repaired & how long will that last?
Not realy tec advice just my experiance with up to now Seven machines, all just plain worn out.
All the best.

Sylvania (SRD3900) DVD Player / VCR Combo i can't seem to plug in the red/white/yellow cables into the right places directly to my old toshiba tv to play either tapes or dvds. can you instruct me? thanks.

Greetings - It's very simple so I'll show you how and then I think it may be another problem (nothing broken).

mikeywaf_33.gif

You need to plug the corresponding color cables into to outputs on your player I've circled above and then into the corresponding inputs on the TV. You've probably done this correctly.
PLUS - You have to, using the remote for the player, set the source to either DVD or VCR and then you have to, finally, on your TV set the input (with the remote) to what is called probably VIDEO or VIDEO1. If there is still nothing on the screen keep (with the DVD or Tape playing) hitting the TV remote input button until you see an image or you've come around to where you started.

Unless something is broken (unlikely) you should be able to watch DVD's or Tapes depending on what input you select on the player.

If it's not working you've somehow missed a step or the Video input on the TV is called something else. If that happens come back here and give the player AND TV brand/model info and someone will be able resolve your problem.

Good Luck and thanks for using Fix Ya.
