Question about Saeco Vienna Digital Coffee Maker, Espresso Machine

Brewed coffee will not come out

We have had our Saeco Vienna Digital for almost 5 years. Pretty good compared to most of the reviews I have read for this product. We have had to send "our baby" in for repair twice. One time it was a ring that needed to be replaced, I believe it cost us about $115.00, and the second time it was the computer which put us back $250.00 We love our machine so much and are so dependent on it, we just wanted it fixed. It's been working fine for almost the past 2 years now, I keep it immaculately clean. The past couple of days, our water tank kept on leaking. Today, when we went to make coffee, the coffee got ground, you hear the water prebrewing, but NO COFFEE COMES OUT! I am having serious withdrawal right about now. I want it fixed! So I cleaned all the components as usual, tested it a few times and nothing. Any assistance is really appreciated. Thank you for your time!

First when the watertank is leaking its usally not the tank itself but the gasket were you but the watertank down in.

About that the coffe wont come out i dont agree that you have to clean the coffegrinder.

First i would trie and set the grinder to more coarse grinding and see if that helps.

second i would trie and clean the filter on the brewing unit. take it off and clean it on the back side. remember not to use the tool you get with the machine to fasten it again as that will probebly brake the brewing unit.

Two things you point out. One is water tank leaking- where is it leaking? Is it cracked?
The other problem you point out is that coffee is not coming out but do get water- which could be that the grinder needs to be cleaned (internally) by an authorized SAECO Service Center .
Contact Saeco USA Inc. to located a Service Center near you at 800-933-7876 (toll-free), ask for customer support, or contact SAECO via e-mail at : outlet@saeco-usa.com

I have a Saeco Vienna Digital expresso machine. I am wondering what the settings should be for the 2 knobs in the bean hopper. One knob has +- settings and the other reads 0-18.

Hi
A good setting would be 8 for the big knob and half way from the neutral to the + side of the small knob. Never all the way to the + as you could get an overcharge and damage the brew drive gears.

Hi
You boiler is leaking. You need to replace the boiler. sorry. Your water hardness might be set to low if you have been descaling when it tells you to. Boilers usually last 7 to 10 years, but need to be replaced. If you need one let me know. I have some new and rebuilt boilers for that machine.

Hi
Has the size of you ground coffee changed? If it is not the size of granulated sugar then its your grinder. Check ebay completed listings. Saw one there couple weeks ago.

Saeco Vienna grinds too much coffee.

Hi
If you have the Delux or Digital there are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the small knob back 1 mark and see if that will help.

What does the coffee produced taste like, is it bitter and watery, is there any creama on the espresso shot. Try adjusting the grind and the coffee level, maybe a little coarser.

Problem getting a Full Cup of Coffee

besides descaling you need to lube the brew group, especially the bit that accepts the group nozzle. You might have a leaking boiler too, 6 years is pretty good for a vienna.

Remove the brew group and look for the two red o-rings on teh brass bit, smear some lube on it, they might need replacing by now, but luckily they aren't too expensive and readily available albeit a bit tricky to install, a good light and some patience is very important.

Saeco Vienna Digital

I had this problem on my Saeco Vienna Digital a while back. I read somewhere just to keep on ventilating, even if it took 20 hoppers of water. Sure enough after about 16 cycles, I heard a change in the noise and looked to see the ventilate sign was gone.
