Brand new, ran for two minutes then died.

Did you put oil in the engine before it was started. If you purchased it brand new take it back from where you bought it. Could be such a thing as a dirty fuel bowl or fuel jet.

2000 volvo s80 ran out of gas put gas in but it wont start

Turn the key to full power (but do not crank the engine). You may hear a high pitched whine from behind you - that's the fuel pump running. Leave the key on for about five seconds, then turn it off for a minute. Turn the key on again for another five seconds, and off for a minute. Then turn the key on for five seconds, and then crank the engine.

If your car ran out of gas, you need to run the fuel pump this way to get fuel up to the engine again - all the lines from the tank to the engine are empty, so the pump needs to run to fill them.

If this doesn't work, it's possible that the fuel pump is vapor-locked and will have to be replaced. Some cars are more susceptible than others to this type of failure.

Drop down tail pipe and try. Sometimes tailpipes are double walled. If you run into freezing water with the tailpipe very hot the inner portion of the tailpipe can totally collapse. I had this problem with a Chevy car twenty five years ago and it took the longest to figure it out. Ran perfect until I ran through the puddle of icy water.

Can a weak battery cause a BMW to misfire?

hello, if the vehicle ran with cable off one would ASUME alternator is ok! however, i bad diode in the aletnator would allow it to charge yet have a massive voltage draw as well, almost all of todays parts stores will do a free starting and charging test for you! a large voltage drop would rob your ignition of voltage causing your miss!.good luck, marty

Tines don't turn

There is usuall a shear pin on the shaft so that when it hits something serious it will shear off preventing the engine from being ruined. I would look for a shear pin somewhere.

My son ran the TDI bone dry of desiel fuel and now it will not start

not shore about VW's but on a GM diesel there is a priming procedure that has to be done.
if there is no manual primer try turning the car to the on position (with the engine off) and wait for five seconds and do this at least five times wait for 30 seconds with the key off and then turn the key to on wait five seconds then start.
