I have the exact same problem. Sensing light is illuminated and the dryer will do nothing. I push the "more time less time" 3 times in 5 seconds to access service mode, open the door and a code 3E displays in the time remaining display. From what I can find on-line, a 3E indicates a user control interface needs to be replaced. The lowest cost I could find for that part is at pcappliancerepair.com @ $177.61, about half of what whirlpool wants. I'm waiting for the part to arrive to see if this fixes it.

My Duet did not start. Then it did start. I thought it was over heated. I cleaned then vents, and dryer inside and out. It worked a few loads and then did not work.

I found out that the Duet has two latches, one at the top and one at the bottom on my dryer. The have to both be engaged for the dryer to work. It started right up.

Maybe coincidence? But give it a try my friends.

Coasty...I'm a believer in starting small and going bigger. First, turn off power at the breakers and then back on. You must do this on both sides of the line. If this resets everything, you're good. If not, check the rest of the wiring. Still no, then you're going to need that circuit board.

Have Duet front load dryer. When pressing Hold/start button, hear 3 fast beeps from the back of the unit, display flashes and dryer will not start. Any suggestions?

This is a common problem with the Duet and the solution is to replace the Motor Control Board (MCU). The control board has a short and the new control boards are revised to address this issue. Here is a link to the new control board.
Here is a copy of my service manual to help you replace the control board.

Good luck and keep me posted.Richard Roth

Machine is stuck in control lock

This feature allows you to lock your settings to prevent unintended use of the dryer. You can also use the Control Locked feature to prevent unintended cycle or option changes during dryer operation.

To enable the Control Locked feature when dryer is running:

Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
The control is locked when a single beep is heard and the Control
Locked status light is on.When the dryer is off,it is not necessary
to press the Control On button before activating the Control Locked
feature.

To unlock:

Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds to turn this feature off.

NOTE:

When the dryer is running and Control Locked is on, the dryer can be
stopped by pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but can't be restarted
until the control is unlocked.

I have Whirlpool Duet dryer, model GEW9200LQ0. At first, it would stop drying when I set it on a particular drying mode (permanent press, delicate, etc.)but it would stop before the clothes were dry. Then,...

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
