There's a big lump of metal or concrete in the bottom of a washer to stop it vibrating when on the spin cycle, there should be some bolts that came with it don't move it far without putting these back in to stop it moving inside and causing damage.

Whirlpool wtw5100sq0 clunks when put on spin cycle

Does the washer currently work fine aside from the loud clunking noise? Does the clunking noise continue or is it just one loud clunk when it starts to spin? If its just one loud clunk then that is not a problem just ignore it as that is the clutch spring releasing, it probably starting making noise from the grease getting washed off when the washer over filled.
However how did the washer overfill? That issue should be addressed too. Sometimes though, if the tub is not centered from a heavy load the water will spill over the back but its not really an overfill.

Washer stopped working yet makes sounds like it is trying. the drum is not moving and water is in the bottom.

you're going to need to pull the unit out, after you have detached all water lines and unplugged it. Once that's done you'll need to somehow get the belt out of there and replace it if it hasn't broken. Sometime if your lucky the belt will have just slipped off.

Kenmore Series 80 top loading washer that doesn't spin or agitate

Unplug machine, remove water pump and motor, behind the motor is a coupler, take broken parts to your local appliance parts store. Costs 16 bucks, replace the broken parts with new ones, reassemble machine. Never ever do a blanket/comforter in your machine again!!

Kenmore top loading washing machine drains but does not spin

Sounds like the coupler broke. This connects the motor to the trans. The part is only like 25.00 and labor is about 140. When it tries to spin if the basket doesn't move at all, then this is it. If the basket is really slow or easily stopped with your hands then the clutch/trans. could be bad. More times than not, it's just the coupler. These are made to break under heavy load, so it doesn't hurt anything else. They are just rubber and plastic and sometimes break for no reason. Push the lid switch with a pen or something with the lid up and try to spin to see what happens.

Need to drain the tub before moving

It should all be drained out of there except a little in the hose. The sloshing sound you hear in there is not old water or stored up water. It is a liquid in a balancing ring that is sealed shut but it sounds like the water is in the tub. The best way to get all the water out is to take a wet vac and **** out the water from the drain hose. Just put you hand around the 2 hoses to kind of seal it and lay it on the floor. Nothing more is really needed to move it. Just don't be too wild moving it around lol. Front load machines are usually very heavy becuase they have cement or heavy pieces to keep the basket from moving around too much in a high speed spin. Good luck

Water on floor under washer

re; water under washer.
The ammount of water is from 1/4 to 1 cup after an individual load. It only became noticable reciently, after the last 3 or 4 heavy loads, using the manual setting on next to the top level. There is an automatic function, but due to the dirt and grit in the jeans I use manual.
