Question about LG Refrigerators

2 Answers

I have a LG Refridgorator/Freezer Model # GR64W43CVF and it continuously bings. Both doors, close properly and there is nothing pushed up to the back to prevent air flow. Help, it's been binging since last night.

I double checked the label on the inside of the freezer and the model # is correct GR64W43CVF. I notice the binging coincides with the Smart Digit panel coming on. Previously the panel would come on without the binging.

I have adjusted the freezer temp to 3 (previously on 5 or so) and the smart digital to 5 degrees for the fridge.

For the moment it seems to be happy.

You have a defective connecting lead wire from main PCB to door switch
OR a bad door switch or both.

First, check the temp inside the freezer. It should be 0 or below. It it's above 0 the computer on your unit will let you know with a binging noise.

If temp it 0 or below, please first check model number. When I try to pull it up, it says it's not a valid number. Then contacrt me back and I'll look into it further for you.

The freezer door is on the bottom and will not stay closed. If i lift up on the door just a little and push hard it will close but will pop open as soon as i let go.

I would check and make sure that the fridge is properly leveled, and also that there is nothing behind the fridge or the freezer compartment that is preventing it from closing properly.

When I open the refrigerator the freezer pops open

I appreciate your inquiry, Tammy McAninch!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer door pops open when you open your refrigerator door. This can happen with new refrigerators because the seal is new. I understand your question is labeled under model FGHB2866PF. It could be issues with your door not aligned properly and hitting your freezer door to open. I would check the gasket to make sure they are creating the proper seal on your freezer in order to check that you can use a dollar bill. Place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket. If you continue to experience issues with your freezer door I would recommend reaching out to a professional for further assistance. I hope this information helps to some degree. -Matt

Frigidaire Freezer Model FFU17C3AW1 door not sealing properly?

Good Afternoon Vonaspern,

I understand that you are having trouble with the door sealing properly on your Frigidaire freezer, model# FFU17C3AW1. I see that you have already checked to make sure there is nothing blocking the door from closing as well as making sure there was nothing between the door gasket and the freezer body. Next, I would check to make sure that the gasket is not damaged or compromised in any way. If it is not damaged, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your freezer and determine what is causing your appliance to properly seal. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Hi, the freezer door will not stay closed. need to push the last 1/2 inch, sometimes it pops out again that 1/2 inch. nothing in freezer to stop it closing. Door need adjusting?? Greg

Hi

If the refrigerator is not properly leveled the doors will not close easily, the front side should be a little bit higher than the rear side. If that's how it is, then the issue is with the hinge lever that seems to have gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

GE Profile freezer door problem

I wil let you know of things you can do to solve this.
This happens because the refrigerators of today are air tight, the fresh food door pushes the air into the cabinet as it closes and the air has no place to go but up the air vent into the freezer and "pops" open the freezer door. First thing is make sure the freezer door is capable of closing properly and is not rubbing or catching anywhere. I sometimes add a washer or 2 to the center hinge under the freezer door so it doesn't rub anything. Put a little Vaseline ( or food grade silicone lubricant ) on the hinge side of the seal. I then raise the front of the refrigerator so that the front of the refrigerator is a little higher than the back of the refrigerator. Never level a fridge with a level. Once you have the door closing properly and front slightly higher than the back...let the fresh food door close from 90 degrees on it's own and the freezer door may "pop" open a little but will close again on it's own...and stay closed once all is set up properly. We see this more often now and have no trouble with the door staying open again after setting up the refrigerator properly.

Hope this helps, Thanks Sea Breeze

Doors creak loudly when closed and pushed from the outside. Don't when open.

This short solution may help solve your creaking problem. First thing is make sure the freezer door is capable of closing properly and is not rubbing or catching anywhere. We see this more often now and have no trouble with the door staying open again after setting up the refrigerator properly. Putting vaseline insid the hinge pins too is a good idea.
Let me know if I can assist you better, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Bottom freezer door/drawer won't close all the way on one side.

Remove all the food from the freezer and then the drawer from the cabinet. Now using a silicone based lubricant, lube the tracks up real well. Be sure to clean the tracks first if gunked up. Make sure nothing small fell out of the basket over time and is laying on the floor in the rear of the freezer section. Once done, you should be fine.
