Question about Nikon F2AS Photomic 35mm SLR Camera

Old Practica SLR camera shutter not working

I have just acquired an old SLR camera (PRAKTICA BCX) and after taking a couple of pictures just fine, I can no longer hear the shutter click.

Any suggestions?

The battery was new about a week ago, and we only took about 5 pictures.

Many thanks.

Mark

35mm slr praktica bca shutter problem.

1) Open the top cover.
2) On the film advance gear, the shutter winding lever is attached to it.
It has screw adjustment there. Unscrew the screw ( not all the way out ) You will need to adjust the wind travel and make the length of the wind lever ( made of spring steel) shorter and tighten the screw.

Shutter problems?

There are a number of possible causes for this on an ME Super, it can be a faulty shutter assembly, dirty shutter magnets, a faulty mirror buffer and a few other causes as well. Unfortunately there are no certainties when trying to remotely diagnose a fault on an approximately thirty year old camera.

It can be fixed but usually is a professional job due to the extensive strip-down required, but a professional repair will cost far more than your SLR is worth. If you wish to tackle the job yourself, then click here for details. It's not a easy job, and so you might fail, but you now have nothing to lose and plenty of useful experience to gain. If all else fails then you can usually pick up another old K-mount camera for free on your local FreeCycle/Freegle groups or for peanuts on auction websites.

Good luck and please take a moment to rate my answer.

Canon EOS Rebel S taking bad pictures

Your camera has a faulty shutter or shutter timer.

Given that you can buy a perfectly good Rebel S for anywhere between £1 to £25 on Ebay it's not economical to repair it.

Shutter lags on first shot

This seems to be a problem with the gears, it most likely just needs to be cleaned. and I would suggest taking it to a camera repair place, or sending it to one, as it can be harmful to your camera to clean it yourself!

Polaroid 690 slr camera will not take photographs.

Have you tried a new filmpack. Reason for asking is if you have an old filmpack, since the batteries are stored in each filmpack, sometimes expired or old filmpacks have been sitting around and lose some of their power. This makes the battery dead or low voltage that can drive all the shutters and lens focus, but fail to extract the film after exposure. Also check your rollers in front that they move and the gear on the side for wear. Another test is to set the flash on and time how long it takes for the flash to get ready. Anything over one minute is too long and I would replace the filmpack with a newer one. BTW: Most 600 filmpacks are old and stored for long periods.

Shutter wont fire, or auto focus

This sounds like mirror box motor problem ( see enclosed shot from our workshop ) : this cocks the shutter and controls mirror mechanism and when the drive dosnt work properly ( small nylon gear on the motor goes ) camera will develop the the sort of problems you describe.
Can be repaired but will cost $ 150-200 so it is relatively expensive repair.
