Question about ViewSonic VE175b 17" LCD Monitor
That issue sounds familiar. Some DELL displays have exactly the same problem, and, for some reason, the model of your display reminders me the 172Fbp model that I'm talking about.
I believe the problem that you are having with your display is caused by a short circuit inside the display, as the power supply detects the short circuit, it stops working. You may need to get a technician to have your display repaired.
