My printer says I don't have ink but I do!

So I recently replaced all of my ink cartiriges and I can see that they are all full. When I put the big black ink cartrige in it has the appropriate red light on as all the other ones do, but then when I try and print it says one of my ink cartriges is out and I look at the ink trays and the light on the balck one is off!! I don't know what to do...

Re: My printer says I don't have ink but I do!

You have most likely purchased a faulty cartridge.

Replace the cartridge again. If this works, and it's a real Canon cartridge contact Canon and they may replace it.

If this does not work, then the carriage assembly contacts for that cartridge have likely been damaged. The unit would have to be serviced to correct this problem.

How to replace ink absorber canon mx310

Unfortunately this is not an end user item. The ink absorber is basically a big felt pad. When the printer cleans the print heads at the beginning of the print cycle it spray ink on the pad o clean the printhead nozzles. The printer is programmed to count these cleaning cycles and when the number is up it gives the ink absorber error on the display. The printers use the ink absorber to prevent the used ink from dripping out of the printer onto you table or desk. By the time the absorber registers that it is full it really is soaking wet with ink, you don't want to deal with that mess. It really is like an end of life for the printer notification. You would have to open the printer, remove and wash the absorber and clean the holder then reset the counter in the printer just to get t going again. The manufacturers don't even sell the absorbers because they treat this as a non-repairable printer. Sorry for the news but I have been a printer tech for 15 years and that's really the best thing to do, get a replacement printer.

My canon i860 is printing more pink all the cartirigeds are in correctly what can i do to fix this

First thought would be that you are possibly running out of ink with one or both of your other colors, causing everything to have a pink / reddish tone. If you have replaced the cartridges with no luck, you should try cleaning the print heads according to the manufacturer suggested instructions. Sometimes, even if there is ink in the well, the print head can become clogged and keep it from printing to the page.

Big black cartridge not printing

Try replacing your printer ink cartridges with a new one.Chances are you have bought a defective cartridge. If that does not work, pls try to check the slot for your black ink for obstructions, then replace your black ink cartridge.

Printing Problem

Cleaning cycles use ink. So it's no wonder it got worse, the ink level went down. Are you 100% sure that the black cart is full? they can give a wrong reading on occasion. what makes you think its full? Could be also that you need to replace the head- the part the cart fits into. generally they don't last more than 18 months.] Another possibility is that the black is indeed full, but dry. Put a wet sponge to the nozzle, see if it soaks up a decent amount of ink. Good luck
