By the sound of it the needle is deflecting away from the bobbin because the material is too thick. ether a thicker needle or a bigger machine an old singer with mail bag needles would be ideal.

Machine jammed and now the bobbin wheel will not turn or catch the thread

By jammed do you mean thread jam? Have you removed sew plate and checked under feed dogs and bobbin for tangled thread and lint build up?

MY Bernina 707 minimatic. It just gets stuck sometimes when I am stitching.

Be sure that your machine is well lubricated. Most older machines suffer from lack of regular maintenance-- old oil turns to glue over time and sticks things together. Use only good quality sewing machine oil, ie Bernina oil for older machines or Tri-Flow Synthetic Oil. Apply a couple drops each place where metal rubs on metal (that includes inside the upper machine, around the needle bar on the left, and in the base area, especially bobbin hook, feed dogs, etc.) Do NOT oil cams, nylon/plastic, or belts. To speed things up, you can direct hot air from a hairdryer into the internal mechanics of the machine.

If cleaning and oiling does not resolve the issue, you should probably take it for service because it could require replacement parts or technical adjustment.

FWIW, your machine is a great machine, so spending some time/dollars on it reward big dividends.

I don't know this machine but in most machines the feed dogs are normally lowered from a switch beside the bobbin case behind the door of the bobbin case.

Kenmore 385 Series with drop in bobbin

it might be that a piece os the pin is still stuck in the bobbin race. try taking the screws out of the throat plate and lifting it up. use a little brush to make sure allthe lint and any pin pieces are out from around the feed dogs. put the black piece back in place before you replace the throat plate. If the black piece doesn't stay in place i doubt that it was in correctly. hope this works.

When threading my Viking sewing machine., the needle won't pick up the thread. I.ve used it 15 years. This is the 1st time this happened. Help...

Do you mean it wont pick up the bobbin thread? You need to get into the user's manual on removing the bobbin shuttle that the bobbin holder clips into (actually pretty easy, I clean ours yearly especially if fuzzy material like velour is sewn) and brush the fixed area out that the bobbin shuttle floats in then reassemble and test. Also remove the throat plate/needle plate and you'll find that fuzz/lint gets between the plat and the feed dogs keeping the dogs from coming up fully.

Also if thread breaks one thing to look for if you've had needles break is a burr around the oval opening in the plate where the needle goes into it. Small Swiss file takes care of the burr and no more burr to break/cut the threads.

On rare occasions you may find the actual bobbin carrier (the one that holds the bobbin and is clipped into the machine) gets worn and wont stay clipped into the shuttle that holds it. Replacing the bobbin carrier is needed then. A1 Sewing on the net carries parts for the #1, #1+ etc.

Not sewing - jamming

Could it be that the feed dogs are down? I also have the 15358 and when I opened the bobbin area to clean it, I had this problem. Apparently, when you open the clips around the outside of the casing, it pushes the lever that adjusts the feed dogs to the right (lowering them). I didn't even realize it at first. Check your manual for adjusting this lever to raise the feed dogs. That might solve your problem.

Fabric not feeding and jamming occurs

When this happens it is because the thread tension was not right so it gets stuck under the bobbin case and the feed dogs. Use a bigger lint brush and take out the bobbin casing and clean out the shuttle. When you rethread pull slightly on the thread before you feed it through the needle. This will make sure the thread is properly in the tension discs.
