Your ethernet cord goes into the spot that looks like it accepts a phone cord on back of console, then the other end goes to your modem or router.

The ports on back of console can sometimes be a tad tricky to get a connection if you are using a cord with the retention clip broken off. If this is the case, get a different ethernet cord. Also make sure you are putting the cord into the right port on your modem/router.

Vx570 ethernet connection

check the modem connections, check on another computer if you can log into, also make sure your using Ethernet connection for dynamic not static.
press the * key, then comm serv, then the tool icon, then troubleshoot, then repair, then you can see what is the issue. if you press ping you can enter using the keypad for letters. then press enter and continuous test, this will tell you if you are connecting to the internet at all. unplug all power and cords, from terminal and modem wait 1 min, plug all back in, power is last to be plugged in, see if this reboots the settings. change where the modem is connected it might be just that port on modem.

Not connecting to netflex

Check your credentials and make sure your blueray device is connected to the internet. If it's the blueray device check and make sure the ethernet cord isn't bad or the port that it's plugged into.

Hope this helps --> Melanie

If its not a black xbox 360 slim than it doesnt have wirless so you either need a wireless adapter or ethernet cord that will hook up to the modem from the xbox.

Can not connect to internet

For wireless:

-Some laptops do have a wireless switch. Make sure it is enabled.
-Make sure you laptop is getting a strong signal.

For wired:
-Check physical connection. Make sure the Ethernet cord is securely connected.

Both wired and wireless:
-Check IP address if its valid, if its valid it means the laptop is connected on the network.
-Check the lights on your modem to check if the modem is getting Internet or if its online.
-If you have a Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can go to "Network and Sharing Center" check if where the red "X" mark. By checking it you can tell whether the problem if between your Internet provider to your modem or its the network.

When i tested my xbox wired connection the test failed. Tthen i tested my wireless with the Earthernet cord unplged. But my xbox thinks the earthernet cord is pluged in. What should i do?

If you are going to use a wired connection, make sure that the computer you are plugging your xbox into actually has internet connection. You may have to set up some preferences from your xbox to ensure that the two devices are communication properly.

Its not connecting me to xboxlive

You need to check and see if you have internet connectivity on the connection your using.

If its a cord you have plugged into the xbox, then hook a computer up to the plug, see if it gets internet connection.. if it does..

Then plug the cord back into the xbox, and go to system settings, and test the connection..

Sometimes, it just needs to be tested to get it to reset.

Cant access internet (e-mails), possible dns error, and Domain Name Server may be down. Pinged remote host but no response

Sounds like either a cable has come unplugged/broken, the router/modem is on its way out, or your DNS cache needs to be cleared.
In this order:
Unplug the modem and/or router power cords. While unplugged, make sure the cat5 cables are connected securely(if using wired net).
Wait about 30 seconds to a minute, then plug the modem and/or router back in.

Test your internet connection.

If there still no connection to the internet, Click Ctar>Run, type in cmd, hit enter. This opens the command prompt.
On the black screen, type in ipconfig/flushdns
Close the command prompt, and re-test your internet connection.

If it still fails, verify with your ISP that your internet connection is active, and try a different router and/or modem.

Can't connect with network

if u dont hav e a router that is ur problem. to get ur xbox 360 to connect to vista media center you cannot connect an ethernet cord directly to ur 360, u must have ur computer hooked to a router with one ethernet cord and a whole different ethernet cord connecting to the same router the computers hooked up to. after you do that go to ur vista media center, turn active sharing on, make sure your router is connected to the internet. then go to ur xbox 360 and follow the on screen instruction from the the connect to media center screen.
if your wanting to connect to xbox live and stuff like that, and u enter ur ip address and security information and it tells u that the ip adress u entered is already in use by another device, and that ur xbox 360 needs to be assigned one, do this: simply go to were u put in ur ip address and set it to get the address automaticly (or in other words choose automatic). then go to test connection (ur router should automaticly assign ur xbox 360 an ip address) and ur router should connect to the internet. if it connects to the internet but not xbox live then u have not yet sign up for an xbox live account.

by the way when u make an xbox live account please send me a friend request. my xboxc live account name is: ghdude22

glad i could help!!! :3
