Grab you machine and look at the symbols on the disk draw.
The device you have is a CD/RW-DVD Rom.
What this means it is a CD Writer and a DVD Reader.
This device will never burn DVDs.sorry
To write DVDs you will need to buy DVD/RW device.

Might be the regestry, errors can accure throught the reg, nothing you did it just happens. Try this and see, "Start" "Run" type in "regedit" then ok in the left field click on the "+" next to Hkey_Local_Machine" + next to "System" + next to :CrurrentControlSet" + next to " Control" + next to "Class" then click on " {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10317} " in the right fild click on "Upper Filters" then "delete" now "Lower Filters" then "Delete" restart pc.
