The cracked heat exchanger should be replaced at once.

While the unit is open, a compete service should be done.

Continued operation can result in further damage to your Toyo and could result in a fire.

Dryer tripped a breaker and when I turned it back on it never goes off the sensing phase and never gets hot

Dryers have what is called a "high limit", whitch keeps dryer from over heating, and protects panal. It sounds like your element has shorted out, check the "high limit" before closing up the back. This is a simple fix, but electrical knowledge is a must. Call the factory for new parts, but have model and serial numbers on hand. UNPLUG

there are limit sensors around fire box.you need to remove front cover.if flames are coming out of fire box there's a restriction in air flow. on older furnace could be fan belt . air cond. coil could be pluged up are all the vents open and have good air flow?you check limits by pulling one wire and check with ohm meter.there normally closed and open when too hot.most limits around fire box don't reset them selves.on some draft inducers there's a limit if it is tripping then theres a vent problem.theres also a limit on the fire box (heat exchanger) that may or may not self reset.

The high limit thermal switch on heater burns out.

There are two thermostats, a 'limit' or 'operating' thermostat which turns the heating element on and off, and a 'high limit' or 'safety' thermostat which oversees the 'operating' thermostat by opening and removing power to the heating element when the upper limit temperature is reached. Basically, the only difference between these two are the temperature ratings. The 'high limit' is higher than the 'operating' thermostat. The thermal fuse is the last resort protection.

First and foremost, you must know that every inch of your exhaust vent pipe is clean.

Usually, a bimetallic limit switch will degenerate in the direction of too low of a temperature range because as the parts wear out inside, the mechanical tolerance widens (the tiny rod that pushes the contacts together gets shorter).

The high limit thermostat is by the thermal fuse. The operating thermostat is in the blower housing.

Check the fan impeller for broken vanes and lint. The impeller is directly coupled to the motor and should not turn without the motor. The fan housing and ducting should be free of excess lint.

Good luck.

Goodman 075-3 fan runs but no voltage going to igniter

One thing you can checkmis the continuity through the ignitor itself if you have continutity through that there is also some safeties it has to go through but the board is where the voltage is supplied for the ignitor. I would check the high limit and the roll out before condeming the board.

T-stat turns gas valve on,burner lightsburns long enough for fan stat to turn on fan, high limit shuts off gas valve, fan shuts off;repeats cycle

Probable causes include crack in heat exchanger, dirty pilot, bad high limit switch or bad gas valve. A crack can allow the fan to blow the flame off of the thermocouple or flame sensor. A dirty pilot will cause the same effect. The bad limit switch could cycle the system and a bad gas valve could be shutting off gas supply to unit.

Red light blinks 4 times, will only cycle once

the high limit is sensing the internal temprature of the furnace. If your filter is very dirty or you have to many of the registers/dampers shut it will cause the temp. of the furnace to exceed its rating and the high limit will open the circuit and shut down the flow of gas. Your blower will then run until the furnace has cooled and the switch will close and allow it to come back on. This is bad for your furnace, make sure your filter is clean and you dont have to many registers shut. If you have run the unit without a filter the problem could be much more sever requiring blower wheel and coil cleaning and possibly a cracked heat exchanger.
