Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Failure to drain, stuck in the drain part of cycle

Thank you for the information so far regarding F 21 error code. I have Cleaned the drain pug twice thoroughly, removed the drain motor and cleaned it thoroughly and have detached and cleaned the drain hose. I ran a cycle of wash successfully after those moves. The next wash cycle stopped somewhere in the drain portion of the cycle. I disconnected the power to the drain motor, reconnected it and started the cycle at the Rinse/Spin phase. The drain motor was very hot, by the way. What else can I do?
Thanks

The pump worked fine for the first cycle I ran after cleaning everything. I could not see anything in the shaft area--which I removed--which essentially was a very heavy magnet. Do I need to order another pump? Thanks,
    Dennis

    Thank you very much.

You may have a drain pump that is going bad,if you have an electrical tester pull the connector off the pump when it stops draining and plug the test probes into the harness plug and put it in spin,if you get somewhere around 120 volts going to the pump, but it won't run you have a bad pump.

If the above procedures you have tried do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

motot is seeing resistance, so is getting hot. Either the pump is damaged (or has soe string, rubberband etc wrapped around the shaft) or the motor has internal problems and needs rebuild or replacement.

What does it mean if the washer is not draining and has a flashing f where the time shows?

I have the manual for this machine. Under "Code 21" it says the following:
"F21" (Drain Problem) Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following: Is the drain hose kinked? Is the drain hose frozen? Is the drain hose clogged? Is the drain hose more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor? Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
For "SUDS" code, the following:
"SUD" (Suds Routine) When excessive suds are detected, a suds routine automatically starts. This routine removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. "SUD" is displayed during rinsing to inform you that Suds Routine was activated. Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergents.
Here is some more information that may help you as well:
"F" Codes other than F20, F21 and F22 Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Select DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer. Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call for service.
I hope this is of some help to you, Please rate and comment, Thank You

It is FO 2 its happpend twice no papper work for it?

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
Depending upon the type of washing machine, you may notice an "F21" or "F02" error code. An "F21" or "F02" error code is indicative of a slow draining cycle, normally caused by a clogged or kinked drain hose. If an "F21" or "F02" error code appears, check the drain hose on the back of your washer to ensure that it is not clogged or bent. Once the drain hose has been unblocked, the error code should disappear and the machine drain properly. However, if you have a high efficiency washing machine and the error code continues to appear, make sure you are using the correct detergent; because high efficiency machines use much less water than traditional washing machines, they require the use of a low sudsing detergent. Traditional detergents may produce too many suds, which can block the machine's drain hose and lead to slower draining cycles.
Please feel free to post me a comment back if you need help with the dissasembly of this ok?
best regards Mike

Model WS55819: Shut off by itself. Power ON with remote, Green light next to power button on TV flashes twice fir 10 cycles and shuts off. Unplugged TV for 30 minutes and for 4+ hours. Same results.

The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:

"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.

"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.

"22" ... Short Protect circuit.

"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.
"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.

you will have to count the blinks, then there is a short pause and then following a second set of blinks this tells what is wrong with set.

My Whirlpool Duet Font Loader Washer stopped 1 minute before the end of the spin cycle; and I need to know how to reset it so that I can start another load of laundry.

Remove the front panelfbee677.jpg and check the pump filterd05d32e.jpg for objects8b65c4c.jpg then grab the tech sheet behind the white box and use the diagnostic instructions.
You have any non-HE soap in there or 2 much the machine will overamp and act all weird and then shut down with error code flashing. If it is an F-21 it means a Long drain. Possible cause: Clogged filter, clogged/failed pump.de495ab.jpg

Error code f 21, what does this mean?

The error code F-21 refers to Long Drain. The washer has sensed that it has not drained out completely and cannot go into further cycle.

If yours is a HE 2 washer, afer few minutes, Sd error will be displayed and then after couple of minutes F21 error code will appear. Water valves will be turned off and stops running.

If yours is a HE front load, when drain time exceeds 8 min, F21 error will be displayed. The water valves will be shut off and pump will stop running.

Generally, by re-storing the power to washer, it may fix the problem.
You may press the pause or the cancel button twice to clear the display.
You may have to double check the drain hose to see if there are any kink, clogs.

Also, you may unplug your washer, turn the circuit breaker off for 1-2 minutes and then plug it back in to check if it works. After this, check to see if the washer drains.

F-21

"F21" is a Long Drain error. This is usually an indication that you have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, the drain pump reservoir becomes clogged and needs to be cleaned out. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

It does not take much to damage these small drain pumps. The error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes. So...if the impeller or motor become damaged, and the pump does not pull water at the correct volume, you may still experience the drain error. In this case, you will have to replace the pump in order to get the error to clear. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574350-replacing_the_drain_pump_in_a_front_load

Replacements can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartrsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. the first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Water supply issues, I believe that the code is "21"

The "F21" error code is actually a Long Drain error. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r1484065-f21_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

This usually is an indication that the drain pump reservoir is clogged and needs cleaned. I provided a follow-on link in the instructions that explain how to clean the pump.

Read through the link and follow the advice provided. If these preliminary measures do not work, it is recommended that you replace the drain pump. Since the error code gets generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump impeller or pump motor becomes damaged and no longer pumps at the required volume, the error code will continue to reoccur until you replace it.

NOTE: If the drain pump is not working, the washer will not start, or complete a wash cycle.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Whirlpool duet sport wfw8300sw00 f-21 error

Unplug the machine. Unscrew the 3 screws under the front edge of the washer. The service technician manual is attached to the panel that slides down and off. Find F21 code. See suggested procedures. Note: My drain pump filter had a baby wash cloth in it along with some change that was disrupting the flow. It is exceptionally easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. Just line up installation notches when reinstalling. Whirlpool should have mentioned this filter in the User & Care Guide, but I could not find it anywhere in there.
