Question about Samsung HT-Q40 System

1 Answer

Fan making noise

The fan just started making noise. It doesn't shut off, seems to be doing what it is supposed to, but is really loud. If I open it up, would WD-40 do the trick?

F16 error occurs when trying to switch on DVD Home Cinema System

F16? I've seen F61. Usually an output IC problem, but it can be caused by a bad fan.
Remove the fan. Remove the sticker from the fan. Remove the small round piece of plastic (if it has one) from under the sticker. Put a couple of drops of oil or wd40 it it and spin the fan blades several times. Replace piece of plastic and sticker. Re-install the fan. Good Luck.

Loud whirring noise from home theater receiver

Sounds like a cooling fan is worn out. If the warranty has expired, remove the cover and there should be a cooling fan. Remove the fan. Try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air. If this does not work take the fan to best buy or circuit city and buy a replacement. I hopet his solves your problem!
