Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 40 in. LCD HDTV

How do I hook up the Sony 40" Bravia (XBR)? Model KDLV40XBRI

Recently moved and took the 40" Sony Bravia (XBR). But many of the wires were stuck and we couldn't take them with us. I also left the surround sound speakers up. Of course, with the move, I can't find the user manual because I don't know which box it's in.

I have a DVR cable box, the DVD player, the center speaker and the one floor speaker. I also have the AC cord. What wires, or accessories, do I need to buy to set this up and make it work? Thanks!!!

Thanks Dogit! I appreciate the advice.

I should also mention that I may add VCR to this as well. What other cables should I purchase? (All of the previously cables are stuck in the wall at the old house.)

My understanding is that the cable wire would connect to the DVR. The DVR would connect to the Sony DVD. The Sony DVD would connect to the TV and to the VCR. Does this sound right?

    Thanks.

Let's make it simple.
1- Your DVR cable box needs one HDMI cable to connect to your TV HDMI input. This will take care of video and Audio connection.

2- Your DVD player needs S- video or Component Video cable for video connection and for Audio connection you need Optical cable or just RCA cable to connect to your TV.

3- You don't need the Center speaker and Floor speaker since these need to hook up from your Amplifier console. If you do, you just need RCA cable to conect audio output from TV to Amplifier and speaker wires from amplifier to speakers.

10 times flash denotes a T'Con fault. There are some other reasons too for this. If you wish to get more details about blinking codes to Sony TVs, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Pull up previous posts by its left sidebar, or type in the brand name and model number to of your set, to its search box, and press 'Enter' or view it in Mosaic / Timeslide option.

Sony XBR 40" tube tv.

Failure of the vertical deflection module/circuit. The tv will have to be opened, the vertical deflection circuit found and replaced.
Definitely a job for a pro - the circuit is going to be extremely difficult to extract. The repair will cost you about $200: $20 for a new circuit and $90 per hour for the 2 hour job.

Stnadby light blinks for 13 times

It really depends on the model #, but 13 blinks in some 40" model sets point to a bad Balancer board.

The sad part is, the balancer board may not be available, and the whole panel has to be replaced.

Which XBR series is it? Give me a model # so I can be of better assistance.

Sony Bravia XBR 40" LCD

First, HORIZONTAL CENTER.
1) Press MENU.
2) Scroll to SETTINGS.
3) Scroll to SCREEN.
4) Go to HORIZONTAL CENTER. Move the picture to the right. Hopefully, the line will go away. Otherwise, there is a problem with the pixels or the signal processor. Call 1-800-222-SONY. Or, http://eservice.sony.com. Have a high-limit credit card handy for out of warranty repairs. Sorry about that.
