Question about Kohler Electrical Supplies
The first thing you need to check is engine rpm if the engine does not rev up to approx 3250 then the generator will not self excite. Lug a voltmeter into your outlet and take reading if it doesnot generate try revving the engine and it should self excite. Once this happens leave your voltmeter plugged in and adjust engine speed until your generator output reads 125VAC. With this set the generator will self excite as long as there are no other problems. If this does resolve your problem let me know

I'm taking a wild stab at this simply because it happened to me. The breaker button was tripped and was actually broken. Since it was broken, it wouldn't reset but it looked like it had, therefore engine runs but the juice was cut off from the panel.
