Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook
You don't need to open the case. Go to staples or office max etc and pick up a couple of cans of computer cleaning compressed air. The air comes at at high pressure, just point it in the ventilation slots and give it short bursts to blow the dirt, dust and hair out of the fins of the heatsink.

Welcome to FixYa! Based on the error you have received, this means that the cooling fan of your laptop needs to be cleaned and checked at. This is a common problem with any toshiba laptop. I suggest checking the heatsink of your laptop. If the CPU heatsink is not clogged with dust and lint completely, you can use canned air and just blow it inside the laptop through the openings on the bottom and on the sides. It's nice as a precaution measure, but it might not work if your laptop already has a problem and the heatsink is completely clogged.
