I've had my JVC TH-L1 Theater System for about 2 years now. I recently rearranged my theater setup in my living room and after reconnecting my system the receiver will power up but not work. I have...

The fact that it stopped working after you tampered with it implies human error in reconnecting.

I'd advise you to carefully go over every thing you touched and crack the manual for settings.

Treat it like you just opened the box for the first time.

Keep the volume at a medium level until you figure it out. One misplaced control like a Mute or Tape Monitor, when flipped, could blow your speakers if the volume is set too high. If you can't hear a source at 1/3 volume it ain't there.

My dvd player wont work it will just say hello when i turn it on but then it will turn off by itself

I have the same problem. I installed this unit and used it for a total of one day before it complely failed. When you tun it on, the display says hello, nothing is shown on the TV, and it turns itself off within 30 seconds. Solution, I am returning this JVC unit and never purchasing another JVC product again. Complete failure after one days use, pitiful!

Th-l1 no back lit screen

Hello,
Although not fully familiar with your unit, many receivers have a small lamp behind the display panel. Sometimes they burn. It is not to easy to replace them bya DIY. If the unit works fine otherwise, it could be just that. lots of other units use Fluorescent type displays, and if they go bad, causes are more complex.
Good luck.

3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect mains.
4. Turn on player with remote. press the 'Repeat' on the remote for 10 sec'.
5. Press enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
7. Press enter on the remote. Player will automatically shut off.
8. Turn player on.
9. Turn off.
10. Turn player on then off again.
