Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Remove the dispenser and spray with white vinegar. Then spray the agitator with it too. You can pretty much wipe it right out. Vinegar dissolves softener very quickly. The dispenser just wash out with warm water after the vinegar sits on it for a minute, and you hardly have to wipe at it at all. try adding bleach to the dispenser and clean it with a small brush.
The dispenser will pull off from the agitator and you can run hot water in it from the sink. The agitator is not as easy but has a 1/2" bolt holding it to the shaft. remove the bolt and pull up. but you can clean the whole washer with a cup of bleach and that will also clean the agitator. Now run a full tub of hot water and then add a cup of bleach with no soap. After the washer has filled up, then add another gallon of hot water and that will help to rinse out the residues that cause odors. then after that dont use too much soap and you wont have residue build up. Only use the smallest amount of soap that the cup has marked in it.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
Mainly cleaning is needed because it uses water. Always clean after 1 week accordingly or alternatively. Its your wish. Always make sure that the thing you put in has no solid thing inside. Always be careful to keep off the water marks. Be keep the softener away from dusty environment. Be aware to keep it Dust-free to eliminate screeching in moving parts. Be always regular to make it water free to prevent rust in inner parts. Be always to make the softner to soften things which it can support. don't give it heavy materials. Reply me for any further queries in this matter.
Hello - There are several things that could cause the fabric softener to not dispense into the washer. Are you sure the liquid in the dispenser after the wash is fabric softener? If it is fabric softener, the solenoid that lets the water into the dispenser is not working. This solenoid is located on the back of the dispenser. It only gets voltage during the dispense time and fills the fabric softener dispenser with water. The fabric softener dispenser fills while the washer is filling for the rinse cycle.
When the washer begins to fill for the rinse cycle, the fabric softener solenoid is energized and water flows into the fabric softener dispenser cup. When the cup is full the water siphons out and softener and water flow into the tub.
If the liquid in the fabric softener dispenser is pure softener you may need a technician to diagnose and repair the problem. The voltage will have to be tested to the softener solenoid and a volt meter is required.
If the liquid in the fabric softener dispenser is water you probably need to clean the dispenser cup. **** will build up in the siphon tube and stop the liquid from going into the washer tub. The incoming water will dilute the softener and overflow the dispenser cup and run into the tub. The instructions for cleaning the dispenser should be located on page 43 of the use and care guide that came with the washer.
If you don't have the use and care guide these instructions will help. Open the dispenser until it stops. In the left rear corner of the dispenser, there is a release that is labeled push. Press down on the push area and you can slide the dispenser drawer out.
Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Clean the bottom of the insert and the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Reinstall the insert and put the drawer back inside the washer.
To test the siphon action slowly pour water into the fabric softener compartment. When the water level goes above the maximum line stop pouring. The water should all drain out.
Hope this information proves to be helpful however if it is ineffective please contact a professional to move forward accurately.

the response i received did not answer my question. My question is how can a clean a moldy fabric softener dispenser.
after removing the plastic disk at the bottom of the dispenser and soaking it in vinegar as well as wiping the bottom of the dispenser with a rag soaked in vinegar, I used Dawn dishwashing detergent to further cut the residue. The dispenser (after about 45 minutes of cleaning) is now clean and fresh. Thank you for your advice to use vinegar. Next time you might want to suggest a small amount of Dawn detergent for a final cleaning. Thank you for your help.
