Red lamp light turns on when power is pushed. Thought it was the lamp, had it replaced and the issue still occurs. Currently out of warranty period. Has anyone seen this? Thanks in advance
The problem sounds like the lamp ballast is bad--it's a circuit that initially starts the lamp and then keeps it burning--the lamps are like a welder's arc inside of a glass globe. When you push the power button, the ballast uses a spark of electricity (sort of like a spark plug) to get the initial arc going and then switches to low voltage, but HIGH amps to keep it going.---Rick
